Luxury Watches |
This is one absolutely stunning timepiece. It is driven by a high calibre, self-winding, automatic movement. The case of the watch is 40mm in total and is made from stainless steel. The bezel is fixed and is also crafted from stainless steel with a polished finish. The dial, however, is the star of the show. It is black with silver-toned Arabic numerals indicating the 12-hour markings and has hints of red provided by the markings on the inner side of the dial showing the 24-hour markings.

Ming celebrates its 5th anniversary in style with the 37.04 Monopusher
Anniversaries are to be celebrated. In life, in work, and in watches, as far as I am concerned. MING Watches apparently thinks so too and does so in true MING Style. Five years after the first watch designed by Ming Thein saw the light of day, the MING 37.04 Monopusher continues to celebrate half a decade of watchmaking under this now well-established name. With a unique style that looks little like anything else, MING has found its niche and knows how to create provocative at a relatively reasonable level. Every now and then, the brand likes to let loose a little and take things to a whole other level. To mark its fifth anniversary, MING? has created the 37.04 Monopusher, with a fascinating movement inside. In just 5 short years MING has established a unique style, with fresh shapes and details, often incorporating very creative design elements. The MING 37.04 Monopusher falls in line with previous models and is part of the Special Projects Cave, a watchmaking program to create small r
The Petrolhead Corner: Talking IWC Watches with F1 Champion Lewis Hamilton
Cars and watches… It’s a topic that we’ve touched on multiple occasions, being one of the most natural matches possible. And for this reason, watchmakers have long partnered with Formula 1 teams and drivers. The mechanical connection, the search for performance and precision, the innovative spirit… It’s all there. However, for some, it goes beyond that. Specifically for Lewis Hamilton, known for his acquired sense of style and his bold personality. Watches, for him, are more than just timekeepers. On the occasion of the launch of the Portugieser Tourbillon Retrograde Chronograph Lewis Hamilton, we’ll be talking watches with him. IWC watches, of course.Frank Geelen, MONOCHROME – Lewis, you’ve been seen wearing a variety of IWC watches, but let’s be honest, nine out of ten are Big Pilots. What’s your main attraction to this watch model?Lewis Hamilton – I’ve always been a huge fan of the Big Pilots. I love the chassis
Introducing The IWC Portugieser Automatic 40 Salmon Dial
If you’re a recurring reader of MONOCHROME, you should know by now that we have a soft spot for salmon-coloured dials. So much so that it was the main theme of our very first Montre de Souscription. Salmon is original, warm, and luxurious, and despite the outpouring of love from the watch-collecting community, these dials remain quite rare… An exclusive treat for connoisseurs. Now, it’s time for the most classic of all IWC Portugieser models to receive such as dial with the introduction of the new Portugieser Automatic 40 Salmon. First exclusive to the UAE, but no worries, it’ll soon be available worldwide.?Let’s make this story short… Because all you need to know here is that there’s a salmon dial on the existing Portugieser Automatic 40, combined with a stainless steel case. That’s it. But sometimes, small updates can create beautiful watches. And, sorry to sound enthusiastic (I love salmon dials, I can’t help it), but seeing a sa
Nivada Grenchen Antarctic Spider - Hands-On Review, Price
Nivada Grenchen is one of those hidden gems of the vintage watch scene, a brand with great history and fascinating models, such as the famous Chronomaster Aviator Sea Diver or the Depthmaster. Dormant for several decades, the brand has recently been revived by French entrepreneur Guillaume Laidet, who in 2019 obtained the license to use the Nivada Grenchen copyright. Following this, Laidet started to reissue some of the brand’s most glorious past models, which also included the brand’s first waterproof automatic watch, the Antarctic. Having a thing for original, daring designs, he wasn’t shy about reproducing the ultra-cool “Pacman” dials and today it’s yet another bold and unique look that is back on stage, with the Nivada Grenchen Antarctic Spider Re-Edition.Nivada was founded in Grenchen (Granges), Switzerland in 1926 by Otto Wullimann, Hermann Schindler and Jack Schneider. The company remained under the control of the Schneider family until its 5
