A. Lange & Sohne Lange 1 Daymatic 25th Anniversary (Specs & Price)
Like all the seven watches presented over the past seven months to f¨ºte the Lange I, the Daymatic is dressed for the party in a? white gold case with blue trimmings on the dial.? As you know, the Saxon brand is celebrating the quarter-century of its foundation watch with not one but ten models. A limited-edition of 25 watches, the Lange 1 Daymatic bears the hallmark features of the iconic Lange 1 - outsize date, off-centred dials, beguiling asymmetry and power reserve indicator? – but with a twist: the layout of the Daymatic dial is a mirror image of the Lange 1, with a few tweaks. The hours and minutes, the subsidiary seconds and outsize date have all switched places and, in a gesture to make it more practical and wearable on a daily basis, the engine powering the functions is automatic.Back to frontThe Lange 1 Daymatic made its debut in 2010, 16 years after the epic unveiling of the Lange 1 in 1994, the watch that has come to define the brand. Although at first glance, the Daym
Stopping a Tourbillon - Monochrome Watches
The tourbillon is often regarded as one of the most prestigious complications and a demonstration of the skill and craftsmanship of the watchmakers capable of manufacturing this captivating mechanism. Invented by Breguet in 1801, its aim is to negate the influence of gravity on the regulating organ of watches. Changes in position have significant effects on the way watches keep time. In a tourbillon, a mobile carriage rotating at slow speed (most often once per minute) houses the balance, balance-spring and escapement to average out positional errors. Tourbillon watches are, therefore, built to keep time with superior precision, but, until very recently, they had one significant drawback. It was impossible to set the time with to-the-second accuracy with a classic stop-seconds function. Indeed, it would seem logical and obvious to be able to synchronize the movement to a time signal. The ability to stop the balance wheel and the seconds hand of a mechanical movement is critical. Baselworld day three - Monochrome Watches
Another interesting day at Baselworld… and besides several meetings and running into some of the very best watchmakers on planet earth during a book-signing, it was also time to finally get my new MIH Watch!Today the book 12 Faces of Time was officially released with a book-signing. Elizabeth Doerr, writer, and Ralf Baumgarten, photographer, really did an excellent job. Not only is the book great, later more about that, the book-signing was one of the most interesting events during the Baselworld fair. At least for me as an admirer of independent watchmakers.12 Faces of Time is actually a piece of art about the art of watchmaking. It’s very stylish, designed beautifully and Ralf Baumgarten’s photography perfectly suit the style of the interviews. This perfect match between the style of interviews and photos is something that absolutely adds to the joy of reading this book. Ad - Scroll to continue with article

Slightly slimmer watches, slightly reduced diameters, and it looks good. Several novelties are being introduced into this collection, including aforementioned worldtimer, the Montblanc 4810 Orbis Terrarum.Last year we have tested the Orbis Terrarum from the Heritage Spirit collection.
