Hands-On Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Selfwinding 34mm Black Ceramic
In addition to the 41mm chronograph white frosted gold Royal Oak we’ve just shown to you, Audemars Piguet is releasing today another model, which could be a bit more important than you might imagine. Indeed, AP has just launched a new black ceramic Royal Oak in its collection… You could argue that it isn’t a first for the brand, but actually, this watch is the first time black ceramic comes without high-end complications, and in a feminine size. And this new Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Selfwinding 34mm Black Ceramic could actually open the door to more of these time-and-date full ceramic models in the future (or at least, that’s what we wish).?The full black ceramic Royal Oak has first been introduced in early 2017, with the reference 26579CE, a highly desirable watch mixing the ultra-thin perpetual calendar movement with a RO case and bracelet entirely executed in black ceramic. Despite using this technical material, the watch retained everything it was famous fo

Cartier ID Two - World's First High-Efficiency Watch - Monochrome Watches
While Cartier has not really been know because of horological accomplishments in their long, rich history, they are making a huge effort to become a true horological power house. And with effect I might add!?Unfortunately for many Cartier fans, including yours truly, the Collection Privee?Cartier Paris ?had to make place for the Fine Watchmaking collection. Parmigiani Fleurier Toric Heritage for Michel Parmigiani 70th Anniversary
On December 2, 1950 at 7:08 am, Michel Parmigiani was born. Seventy years later, this man, founder of a watch manufacture named Parmigiani Fleurier (among other companies) is still regarded as one of the most influential contemporary watchmakers. When the watch industry was suffering from the quartz crisis, in 1976, Parmigiani decided to establish his first workshop, specialised in the restoration of antique pocket watches. A risk for some, it ended up becoming the foundation for his eponymous brand 20 years later. As this man celebrates his 70th birthday today, the brand has decided to launch a special watch, actually a recreation of Michel’s first wristwatch. Meet the Parmigiani Fleurier Toric Heritage.Michel Parmigiani, watchmaker and founder of Parmigiani FleurierMichel Parmigiani, a lifetime dedicated to beautiful horologyBorn in 1950 in the Swiss canton of Neuchatel, Michel Parmigiani grew up with an avid devotion to both watchmaking and architecture. 2022-2023 Naoya Hida Collection, With 3rd-Gen Case
The world of watches and watchmaking in general isn’t limited to a small portion of the Swiss Jura mountains. In this respect, Japan is a country with a solid watch culture and a strong industry, gathering some of the most important brands around, such as Seiko (and all of its sub-brands) and Citizen. There’s also a highly impressive independent watchmaking scene to be explored in Japan. One of the most respected indies is, without a doubt, Naoya Hida. And today, it launches its 2022-2023 collection, featuring the 3rd generation case and new designs… with no fewer than 5 new references.?Naoya Hida is a relatively young brand, based in Tokyo, Japan. As explained in our article on the Type3A Moon Phase here, it was founded in 2018 by Mr Naoya Hida, and has followed a strict principle; offer high-end watches in very limited numbers, with a consistent design. Mr Naoya Hida served as a representative for F.P. Journe and Ralph Lauren's watches and jewellery.?Later, in 2020,
