Symphonette series of Longines has come up with a very elegant timepiece. This model is, in fact, elegance and modernity coming together in harmony! The oval-shaped case has its own uniqueness. The case has dimensions of 16.00x25.00 mm. White mother-of-pearl dial with diamonds set as index hour markers has added to the entire look of the watch. Hands-On: The Handsome 36mm Salmon Chopard L.U.C 1860 In Steel
Developed over three years, Chopard’s calibre 1.96 with a gold micro-rotor and a slim height of 3.3mm was released in 1996. Garnering praise as one of the finest automatic movements available, the movement established the brand as a true manufacture. The first watch to feature the in-house calibre was the L.U.C 1860 of 1997 with a 36.5mm case and elegant guilloche decoration on the dial. The latest L.U.C 1860 looks back to this 1997 timepiece and reproduces the compact 36.5mm case size but crafts it in Chopard’s exclusive Lucent Steel A223 alloy,? a first for the L.U.C family. Like the first L.U.C 1860, the dial is beautifully decorated with hand-guilloche patterns, but the date window has been eliminated. ?Compact dress watchThe compact 36.5mm diameter and thin 8.20mm thickness of the case are clearly indicative of its dress watch category. Crafted in Lucent Steel, a resistant and luminous alloy usually reserved for the Alpine Eagle collection, the three-part case features
Diving The Blancpain Fifty Fathoms X Fathoms Underwater
It's impossible to talk about the modern scuba diving watch and its evolution without talking about Blancpain. As one of the earliest creators of the purpose-built tool watch, they are responsible for multiple innovations in the field, including using an o-ring to seal the case back, and a pioneering crown seal system. Their name belongs right up there with the likes of and Omega and Panerai when discussing the inception of the dive watch as we know and love it today. And to see if Blancpain can still hold its own in the world of dive watches, we go diving with the all-mighty Blancpain Fifty Fathoms X Fathoms.HistoryBlancpain was founded in 1735 when Jehan-Jacques Blancpain registered himself as a watchmaker in the village records in Villeret, a small Swiss village in the picturesque Jura Mountains. The company would remain in the Blancpain family for the next seven generations, becoming the largest watch manufacturer in Villeret. Upon the death of Frederic-Emile Blancpain in 1932, a
Baselworld 2019 - Oris Clean Ocean Limited Edition (Specs & Price)
Oris continues to ride the bandwagon of environmental conservation and has recently partnered with Pacific Garbage Screening, a pioneering German organisation committed to ridding our oceans of plastic.? To promote the partnership, Oris is releasing a limited edition 39.5mm Aquis Date diver model with an aqua blue dial and a medallion on the caseback made from recycled PET plastic.Collecting trash from the oceanThe UN's environmental arm estimates that 8m tonnes of plastic reach the ocean every year and that by 2050 there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish. The problem has really come to the fore when scientists discovered that much of the fish we eat contains toxic chemicals from the microplastics they have consumed. Pacific Garbage Screening has developed an innovative floating platform that will act much like a giant sieve collecting plastic waste from rivers, estuaries and the ocean. Panerai Luminor Submersible 1950 3 Days Automatic Oro Rosso 42mm PAM00684 - SIHH 2017 (Review / Price)
Panerai watches are great. They look super-cool, they have that unique aura of a robust and vintage dive watch mixed with that Italian je-ne-sais-quoi.?They are icons of watchmaking. Still, there might?be one issue with these watches. Most?are sized for?lumberjacks’ wrists. If the 45mm or 47mm diameters participate to the look (and they are actually easier to wear than what you can expect), a smaller size could be welcome. That’s what happened with the Panerai Luminor Due, the smaller, slimmer and dressier versions of the icon. But what if you want the sporty look? Well, for the SIHH 2017, the answer came in the name of?the?Panerai Luminor Submersible 1950 3 Days Automatic Oro Rosso 42mm PAM00684, the small & gold Luminor Submersible that rocks. To some, this watch will be an almost no-sense. Admittedly, it is full of contradictions. It is supposed to be a Luminor Submersible but?it’s small (relatively speaking, because it is 42mm). It is supposed to be a tool watc
Vacheron Constantin Historiques American 1921 Mid-Size Model Unisex 36.5mm (With Price)
In 2009, Vacheron Constantin unveiled the Historiques American 1921, a re-edition of one of its classic timepieces from the Art Deco period that was made exclusively for the North American market. A highly desirable watch, it pays homage to what is, without doubt, one of the most beautiful yet original Vacheron Constantin models ever made. Despite its modest (on paper) 40mm size, the squared case wears quite large on the wrist, discouraging some collectors. Listening to this feedback, the brand announced today that the Historiques American 1921 will now also be available in a mid-size, unisex version with a case measuring 36.5mm. Read on for all the details. The Original Re-EditionAs a quick refresher for those not familiar with the collection, the American 1921 is part of Vacheron Constantin's Historiques collection, which presents modern versions of distinctive watches from the firm's 254-year history. The Historique American 1921 is not actually based on a single Vacheron Constantin
