Pre-SIHH 2019 - A. Lange & Sohne Lange 1 25th Anniversary 191.066 (Specs & Price)
Twenty-five years ago, a phoenix arose from its ashes – one of the most spectacular phoenixes Saxony has ever seen. His name was A. Lange & Sohne. To mark its resurrection as a new company, the brand introduced four watches, and among them was a watch that would go on to become the cornerstone of the collection, a watch of great elegance, distinction and originality. This watch was the Lange 1 and today A. Lange & Sohne celebrates its 25th anniversary with a superb limited edition (which will be presented at the SIHH 2019).The Lange?1 since 1994Almost 25 years ago –?24 October 1994 – the German watch brand A. Lange & Sohne introduced its very first collection of watches. That was just four years after Ferdinand A. Lange's great-grandson, Walter Lange, together with?Gunter Blumlein (at the time the managing director of IWC and Jaeger-LeCoultre) had relaunched the brand, shortly after the reunification of Germany. Lange Uhren GmbH?was founded on 7 December 1
Weekly Watch Photo - Audemars Piguet wants your Summer Photos - Monochrome Watches
As a watch brand you’re usually sending information. Advertisements, endorsements, press releases and much more. Audemars Piguet does something entirely different this summer. They asked their Facebook fans to share their summer photos.?The ideal result are photos showing an Audemars Piguet timepiece and a beautiful background, in this case related to your vacation/summer. Mood shot, that’s what theses kind of photos are called. Other brands like A. Lange und Sohne and IWC shared their own mood-shots (and we shared them with you). 2021 Tudor Black Bay Chrono Panda 79360N Review, Video, Price
The Black Bay is, without doubt, the most successful collection of Tudor. This watch has been instrumental in the resurrection of the brand in the early 2010s. Since its introduction in 2012, this vintage-inspired diver's watch has been a commercial hit and the collection has been enlarged with multiple complications, in various materials and in a wide range of colours. The collection is a classic for Tudor, mixing modern execution and retro-looking elements, such as the iconic Snowflake hands or signature applied indexes. And in 2017, the brand introduced its first Black Bay Chrono, which caused quite some reactions… A good base for sure, but there was room for improvement. Well, it’s here, with the new editions of the Tudor Black Bay Chrono for 2021. And we have a video review of these models too, that you can check on top of the article. The Black Bay Chrono… a controversial piece in a success storyThe Black Bay is like a piece of well-oiled machinery for Tudor. Hands-On - Patek Philippe Chronograph Annual Calendar 5960/01g (Specs & Price)
For a few years now, Patek Philippe has been applying a rather surprising strategy, by offering a new, younger approach. Sometimes vintage, sometimes modern, and sometimes quite difficult to understand, even sometimes controversial… This all started back in 2014 with the modern-looking stainless steel 5960/1A, followed later in 2015 with the launch of the Calatrava Travel Time Pilot 5524G, a vintage-inspired watch, dramatically different from the traditional conservative Patek collections. And if you mix these two watches, you’ll end up with the 2017?Patek Philippe Chronograph Annual Calendar 5960/01g.The Patek Philippe Ref. 5960This reference is certainly amongst the most important modern Pateks… If it has always been well received and had always somehow flown under the radar, it has to be reminded that, when it came on the market, the 5960 was a big first for the brand.?Before this ref. 5960, at Patek, the calendar linked to a chronograph was always a perpetual one
Hands-On - Tudor Heritage Advisor Cognac, one of the very few alarm watches on the market (live pics, specs & price) - Monochrome Watches
In terms of complications, the chronograph is certainly the most widely known – and used – of them all. Then, when you pronounce the words “chiming watches“, the immediate reference goes to the minute repeater. However, one chiming complication shouldn’t be forgotten, one which?is actually rather important historically and one that will immediately link to the “president watch“. Alarm watches are rare, somehow?outdated – especially in our era of smartphones (but like every?mechanical watch) – but also sort of fascinating. One of the very few manufacture to offer one is Tudor, and their proposition comes with a new color this year. Here is the?Tudor Heritage Advisor Cognac.Strange enough, we never covered this watch on Monochrome-Watches. Don’t ask why, we have no good reasons for that. It’s even more surprising, considering that the Tudor Heritage Advisor is the most complicated watch of the catalogue. This issue is abou
