Weekly Watch Photo - Glashutte Original PanoInverse XL - Monochrome Watches
This isn’t the first time that we feature some of Jocke’s photos in our Weekly Watch Photo. It was actually the legacy of his ‘wet Sea-Dweller’ photo?that inspired the Weekly Watch Photo.?Judging from the photos he shares, Jocke is a fan of German watch brands. Besides the A. Lange & Sohne 1815 that we already showed you here, he also owns a Dornbluth & Sohne (later more about this one) and several Glashutte Original timepieces, like the Panoinverse XL that we show you today. While most watches from A. Lange & Sohne and Glashutte Original are pure watch pornography on the wrist, they keep things courteous because the mind-blowing movements are movement down ‘on the wrist’. Not so the Panoinverse XL, that shows its beauty in all its naked glory. Ad - Scroll to continue with article GO’s Panoinverse XL caused q
Ulysse Nardin Classico Manufacture Grand Feu SIHH 2018 - Hands-On (Specs & Price)
While some of the watches introduced by Ulysse Nardin at the SIHH 2018 slightly surprised us, including the Marine Torpilleur Military (and surprise doesn’t mean negative feelings here), the brand also had something resolutely classic up its sleeve in the form of the?Classico Manufacture Grand Feu, which we reviewed here. Endowed with glossy enamel dials, a subtle yet original design, and an accessible price, we wanted to see them in the metal. If there’s nothing especially new about these watches since they are a simple evolution of the existing Classico Manufacture we reviewed here,?the addition of enamel dials is more than enough to tickle our interest at MONOCHROME. As we already explained to you after several articles about this model, the Classico Manufacture is UN’s best definition of a “classic”, “dressy” and “understated” watch. It is subtly designed and proportioned, yet it has a few distinctive details that confer original
Girard-Perregaux 1966 now also in 41 mm size - Monochrome Watches
Girard-Perregaux have just released an enlarged version of the uber-classic and always elegant 1966. Its case size grew from 38 mm to 41 mm in diameter and it also got a new engine, caliber GP4500, that delivers more power reserve.?Earlier this year Girard-Perregaux already launched the 1966 Chronograph with an increased case size (40 -> 42 mm). While Jaeger-LeCoultre is trimming down the case size of the Master collection, it looks like Girard-Perregaux, also one of the beautiful classic watch brands, is doing the exact opposite. Ad - Scroll to continue with article The new GP1966 comes in either white gold or pink gold and inherited the same looks as its smaller sibling. One thing that caught my attention, is that the date window has moved slightly more to the edge of the dial and the 3 o’clock marker is half the size of the marker at the ?6, 9 and 12
Ma?tres du Temps Chapter One Round Transparence - Monochrome Watches
Dreams do come true. In the US, anyone who has played fantasy football or attended an all-star baseball game knows the synergistic thrill of combining top talent from various sources. These sports venues reveal a dream team in action, and Ma?tres du Temps embodies this concept for the watch world; the Chapter One Round Transparence is their latest dream realized. The Transparence is an evolution of the Chapter One Round (first introduced in 2007), and provides a voyeuristic view of its inner workings. When you pay close to half-a-million dollars, own one watch of only eleven made, and have the creative duo of Peter Speake-Marin and Christophe Claret design the watch, viewing the movement provides a greater appreciation of the watch's alchemy. Those of us who fail to make the Forbes 500 list of the world's richest people can dream, knowing that somewhere, there is such a watch. Ad - Scroll to continue with article
The new Tudor Black Bay Pro is ready to travel the world.
The Black Bay has been an immense success for Tudor, with countless iterations since it was first launched in 2012. What started as a handsome retro-diver morphed into much, much more. We now have multiple complications, Master Chronometer certification and a range of different materials to choose from. Tudor now moves the Black Bay more in the direction of a professional tool watch with its new Black Bay Pro. It retains its vintage appeal but combines it with a new manufacture movement, a fixed 24-hour bezel and a practical GMT indication. The Black Bay Pro has a 39mm wide stainless steel case with brushed and polished finishings. So far, nothing spectacular or groundbreaking, but then you get to the bezel. While there is already a GMT version of the Black Bay in the collection, this Black Bay Pro changes things up a bit. On top of the case is a fixed steel bezel with a black-filled 24-hour scale. This closely resembles the design of the first-ever Explorer II, ref. 1655 from the ear
