Hands-On Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet Selfwinding Diamonds 15210OR
Audemars Piguet's Code 11.59 collection was unveiled in 2019 and marked the brand’s first important product launch in 20 years. Comprised of six models, 13 references, and three of in-house calibres, its distinctive 41mm case design was, as the brand pointed out, consciously thought for both men and women. Presented in January 2022, these two gem-set models blanketed with more than 1,000 brilliant-cut diamonds on the case are clearly earmarked for women and marked a first for the Code 11.59 collection.Diamond paved gold cases and dialsThe complex architecture of the 41mm case, with its octagonal middle case sandwiched between a thin bezel and round caseback, sparkles with the light of 473 brilliant-cut diamonds (~2.69 carats). The most salient feature of the case is the octagonal central container that pays homage to the iconic octagonal bezel of the Royal Oak. Viewed from the side, you can how the floating lugs are hollowed and welded to the bezel module. Every surface is paved
2020 Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Selfwinding Chronograph 44mm
A watch introduced in 1992 and that, back then, was met with extreme reactions with its unprecedented approach to luxury watchmaking, the Royal Oak Offshore has since been Audemars Piguet sportiest, most masculine piece – a far more robust version of the octagonal iconic model launched in 1972. From the earliest days, this watch played on contrasts and materials and it still does in 2020, as we can see with three new models of the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Selfwinding Chronograph 44mm, with bold, accented cases and new smoked dials with Arabic numerals.Following this collection’s tradition, these 2020 Royal Oak Offshore are ultra-bold, robust watches that will not fail to leave an impression. All three watches share the same base, meaning a 44mm case in brushed black ceramic with polished accents. All three models feature a sapphire crystal on top, a titanium caseback with see-through sapphire and a lateral module that protects the crown and integrates the chronogr

Recently, TAG Heuer faced a sort of internal crisis. To be very quick about the story, a new calibre had been introduced last year at Baselworld?with a brand new Carrera watch, then the introduction was?postponed and ultimately cancelled.?The manufacturer faced layoffs, the collection had to be repositioned, the CEO resigned and a new CEO (the well-known Jean-Claude Biver) arrived at the helm of the brand – long, complicated, sad but true story. Hands-On - Bell & Ross BR-X1 Skeleton Tourbillon Sapphire (Specs & Price)
Last year, Bell & Ross set a new benchmark for itself with the unveiling of the BR-X1 Chronograph Tourbillon Sapphire. Housed in a jaw-dropping, sapphire case that left little to the imagination, the (way-too) limited-edition timepiece made it crystal clear (pun intended) that the brand is about far more than just military and aviation-inspired watches. Now, Bell & Ross is taking the challenge of transparency a step further, with the new BR-X1 Skeleton Tourbillon Sapphire.Over the last few years full sapphire cases have become increasingly popular, thanks in large part to early pioneers like Richard Mille and even MB&F. Indeed, several brands have unveiled watches with sapphire cases in the past few years alone, including Hublot’s Big Bang Unico Sapphire, Greubel Forsey’s Double Tourbillon 30o Technique Sapphire?and Rebellion’s 540 Magnum Sapphire Tourbillon. Not that we're complaining mind you. After all, transparent cases allow for uninterrupted viewing
