The New Bvlgari Watches of Baselworld 2019, Including the World's Thinnest Chronograph - Monochrome Watches
Bvlgari Watches never ceases to impress… Whether they create ultra-thin, record-breaking watches or ultra-feminine watches inspired by the Italian culture, the brand has managed in the past few years to have one of the most solid collections of the entire industry. Baselworld 2019 was again the occasion for the brand to expose superb novelties, as you’ll see in this video interview with Guido Terreni, Managing Director of the brand, introducing to us the new Bvlgari Watches of Baselworld 2019.The first model that has been introduced by the brand at Baselworld 2019 is dedicated to women; the Bvlgari Serpenti Seduttori. This piece is a new take on the legendary snake-shaped watch, this time worn in a more contemporary, more discreet way, with an apparently simple bracelet… We say apparently because this bracelet shows superb jewelry skills and is beautifully shaped with links as scales. Patek Philippe Advanced Research 5750 Minute Repeater
Founded in 2005,?Patek Philippe‘s Advanced Research department aims at improving mechanical movements and bringing innovative solutions in the fields of materials (silicon, for instance) and technologies for watchmaking. This goes for the introduction of Silinvar (2005), the Spiromax balance spring (2006), the Pulsomax escapement (2008), the Oscillomax ensemble (2011), and a further optimized version of the Spiromax balance spring (2017). In 2017, the brand will look at something different, and that is a compliant mechanism for the dual-time function, in an Aquanaut. Today, following a year with already a grande sonnerie watch, the brand continues its researches in the field of chiming watch, with major improvements on the minute repeating watch, with the new Patek Philippe Advanced Research 5750 Minute Repeater.?The technical solutionsThe goal of the Advanced Research department is to bring new solutions in order to innovate, or in the present case to improve existing mechanisms
Montblanc Heritage Small Second Limited Edition 38 Minerva // Hands-On
Back at the SIHH 2019 last year, Montblanc introduced “Heritage”, a brand new collection of classic, slightly retro watches. Elegant, well-designed, available with desirable salmon dials, it was available from a simple 3-hander, to a surprising (and well-priced) Monopusher Chrono… And two limited but really attractive versions, a perpetual calendar or a Minerva chronograph. Now that the collection is well-established, Montblanc introduces with yet another winning combination, an ultra-limited version with steel case, salmon dial, great proportions and, the cherry on the cake, a new-old-stock, hand-finished and historic Minerva movement.People tend to miss an important point with Montblanc. Certainly, the brand is first and foremost known for its fountain pens. But it also manufactures watches… And not fashion watches, but a full range of mechanical pieces, some relatively simple and equipped with out-sourced movements, some with impressive technical content and
Hands-On - Bianchet Tourbillon B1.618 Openwork (Specs & Price)
Bianchet is a new horological independent watchmaker founded by Rodolfo and Emmanuelle Festa Bianchet, located in the Neuchatel area. Following a career in Fintech, the Festa Bianchet couple embarked on a new entrepreneurial project, following their passion and desire to create their own watches. On the occasion of the Geneva Watch Days, we were able to meet them and take a look at their first creation, the Bianchet Tourbillon B1.618 Openwork. When presenting his first horological creation, Rodolfo Festa Bianchet immediately mentions his love for tonneau-shaped watches and his fascination for the work of the Italian mathematician Fibonacci and for the Golden Ratio (1.618). Their idea was to create a modern timepiece, applying the golden ratio to design not only the case (and its profile) but also the movement (shaping the different bridges). Hands-On - Maurice Lacroix Aikon Skeleton 39mm (Specs & Price)
I think most of us can agree that Tissot offers one of the best values for an integrated mechanical sports watch with the PRX Powermatic 80. Less expensive models like the Dumoreau DM01 Automatic and Batavi Architect are intriguing, but the PRX is a mature, well-executed piece from a major Swiss brand. Between this and pricier luxury models like the Bell & Ross BR05 sits the Maurice Lacroix Aikon collection, introduced in 2016 and expanded in 2018 with more accessible automatic variants. Slightly more luxurious, better equipped, and mechanically coherent, the collection has a lot to offer. The new Aikon Skeleton 39mm brings an eye-catching skeletonized movement to the latest, universal case size. All about accessible luxuryMaurice Lacroix is known for accessible luxury with the Aikon automatic collection really emphasizing that. The sports watches come in many sizes for men and women, but the 39mm Aikon Automatic has a universal case diameter with a broad, unisex appeal. Launched in
