Hands-On - The 2022 TAG Heuer Carrera x Porsche Limited Edition
During Watches and Wonders 2022, TAG Heuer has unveiled its second chronograph stemming from its partnership with Porsche. This partnership between the two brands was announced in 2021 and resulted from an entwined history marked by an obsession with speed and motorsports. Following the first classic stainless steel version, the TAG Heuer Carrera x Porsche is back in a black-and-yellow limited edition for 2022.?First and foremost, the brands have in common the Carrera name that was incarnated by Jack Heuer's 1963 chronograph and some of the carmaker's most powerful creations. In particular, both Jack Heuer and Ferry Porsche were fascinated by La Carrera Panamericana, a perilous endurance race staged in Mexico that ended up inspiring the name of Jack Heuer's chronograph and the top-performing sports cars produced by Porsche. Women's Watch Wednesday - Clare Mountbatten And Her Unique Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso
Clare Mountbatten, Marchioness of Milford Haven, is many things. She is a respected journalist (formally the social Editor for Tatler magazine), wife to George Mountbatten, 4th Marquess of Milford Haven, mother, polo player and Jaeger-LeCoultre ambassador. But above all, she's a wonderful woman (I swear she didn't pay me to say that).Having met her a few weeks back at Trippett's Farm in West Sussex for a Polo clinic (don't ask - the only riding I had done prior was five minutes on a decrepit Shetland pony at a gypsy fair 15 years ago). I couldn't help but notice an interesting watch on her wrist. As a polo player and JLC ambassador, you would expect it to be none other than a Reverso - but it was the details that caught the eye. The watch she chose was a Reverso Classic Duetto Medium in pink gold. It has a day-night set up with two dials (powered by a single movement). As I later found out, Clare was invited in 2016 (on the 85th birthday of the Reverso) to go through the process of des
Ever Wanted To Own A Championship-Winning Ferrari F1 Car? Now's Your Chance!
There was a time in Formula 1 racing where not one, not two, not three but pretty much half the field had the talent and material to compete for race wins, and thus the championship. During the 1970s, a time that’s considered the golden age of F1 racing, many stars rose to the top. Think of names like Gilles Villeneuve, Mario Andretti, Emerson Fittipaldi, Jackie Stewart, Niki Lauda, James Hunt and so on. But not just drivers became icons of the sport, individual cars had the tendency to do so as well! A lot of people will fondly recall the John Player Special Lotus cars, the Marlboro-sponsored McLarens, or the blue Matras and Tyrrells of the day. And whenever Formula 1 is the topic at hand, Ferrari is never far away. Even today, such stand-out names and achievements vividly resonate with fans of the sport. And luck would have it, you have a chance to own actual F1 racing history, as 12 cars owned and raced by the 1979 F1 World Driver’s Champion Jody Scheckter are coming up
Panerai LAB-ID PAM700 - Review (Specs & Price)
A?common cliche is to let engineering and innovation in the hands of Germans / Swiss and design to Italians. Justified or not, you probably heard that dozens of times. Yet, for once, we’ll let Italians their chance to show their skills in terms of innovation… And to be honest, they might have something here. Indeed, the new?Panerai LAB-ID PAM700, presented at the SIHH 2017, is simply a concentrate of Panerai’s technology. 50 years warranty, self-lubricated parts, almost no jewels in the movement, carbon everywhere. See, Italians can also jump into technology.OK, this intro was kind of ironic, because, it has to be said, Panerai watches are mostly developed and manufactured in Neuchatel, Switzerland. Yet, this doesn’t remove anything to the interest behind this watch, a piece that sums up everything the Florentine brand can do best in terms of technology and movement design.?Clearly, the teams of Panerai are both proud and extremely confident in this new concept.
Introducing: The Tudor Black Bay Pro GMT Polar White dial
In 2022, we went as far as to consider the Tudor Black Bay Pro GMT the best tool watch we have seen that year, impressed by its cool design, ultra-robust construction and fair price. A perfect adventure watch, solid and legible, with a GMT complication for travellers - a do-it-all, wear-it-everywhere. This year, this Tudor model that does bear some resemblance to the Explorer II gets a polar dial, and that’s the news. The new version comes in the same 39mm case as the earlier reference, crafted from stainless steel with polished and satin-finished surfaces, waterproof to 200m, with a 24-hour fixed bezel, satin-brushed.
