The 142 NOMOS Glash¡Ìotte is definitely for those who love a simple yet powerful approach to their style. This NOMOS watch is a classic powered by the newmatik caliber. The midnight blue dial is large but ultra-thin. It features a stainless steel case along with a sapphire crystal glass back. The remborde leather strap (crafted from Horween Genuine Shell Cordovan) is thick and long-lasting. You are sure to notice the rhodium-plated, neon-orange seconds hand. The winged clasp is an impressive example of elegance offered by NOMOS. It can fit under cufflinks without any trouble.

Patek Philippe 175 auction by Christie's - Results and analysis - Monochrome-Watches
That’s it! The Christie’s auction for Patek Philippe 175th Anniversary is done and well done. With a total amount of CHF 19,367,000 (around EUR 16,100,000 or USD 20,000,000) for 100 lots, we’re in front of quite a serious amount (an average of 190,000 CHF per lot). We introduced to you the highlights of the sale a few weeks ago and we were impressed by the selection. It is now time for us to see the results of the auction’s highlights and of a few others watches that might be interesting. If you take a look at the catalog and the results, you’ll notice that most of the lots had been sold at prices higher than the estimates. Some of them, such as lots 83, 78 or 44 even doubled the estimate. It especially true for the ‘cheapest‘ lots. We also had some surprises, such as lot?39, certainly one of the most expansive 3-hand watches?ever sold or lot 89 that reached and incredible price for a vintage Patek Philippe Nautilus. We’ll get back on thes
Hands-On With The Seiko Prospex Diver Save the Ocean SLA065
A couple of weeks ago, Seiko released a new dive watch as part of the SLAxxx series – the higher-end collection with the most advanced features the brand can pack. Once again, it had to do with the most emblematic dive watch of the brand, the 62MAS – which is also the brand’s first-ever and, coincidentally, Japan’s first-ever dive watch. As part of the “Save the Ocean” series, it felt familiar and shared many design elements with other eyes in the brand’s portfolio. However, this new Seiko Prospex Diver Save the Ocean SLA065 also came with some specificities – its dial, of course, and its colour scheme too, but also an unprecedented case. And now that we have had a sample in our hands, it’s time to tell you everything you need to know about it.Our initial article was deliberately short and factual. First of all, Seiko is often rather concise when it comes to explaining its watches in press releases. Having only the brand’s off
Cousteau and the Timepieces of the Calypso team - Part 3 - Monochrome Watches
Yesterday we introduced?you to the history of diver watches and the crucial role that Jacques-Yves Cousteau and his team played in the development of diver watches (see here). The second installment?focussed?on?the diver watches that were actually used by Jacques-Yves Cousteau and is team in the 1960’s (click here), and now we’re going to show you the watches that they used in the 1970’s and 1980’s. We’re still talking about proper tool watches, although the first ‘luxury’ watches are appearing as well.?During the 1970's the watches that Cousteau and his divers wore, and which can be identified from the documentaries, were mainly from the brands Omega, Doxa and . The ultra professional Seamaster 600 and 1000 plus the Marine Chronometer, which can ben seen on the wrist of the commander himself, the Doxa 300 Sub and the Doxa T-graph and last but not least, various Submarines (ref.5512/5513) and a few Sea-Dwellers.Let’s Talk about Watches
Oris introduces a trio of unisex Aquis Date 36.5mm models.
Geneva Watch Days 2022 brings us a fun trio of Oris Aquis Date models, this time with reserved, unisex cases and earthy mother-of-pearl dials. Don't let the relaxed aesthetics fool you: these are serious divers with a pro depth rating and sophistication that Aquis Date watches are known for. They follow similar yet larger models like the Aquis Date New York Harbor Limited Edition with a green mother-of-pearl dial (almost identical to one of these three), but the smaller size and steel bracelets give them distinctive personalities. Women might be a bit more drawn to these, but they're certainly suitable for anyone above or below the water. The multi-piece stainless steel case has the familiar Aquis Date look with a steel unidirectional rotating bezel and 60-minute scale in relief. At 36.5mm in diameter, it's on the smaller end of the collection but, again, universally sized for just about any wrist. A double-domed sapphire crystal with an interior anti-reflective coating protects the dia
First Look: The New TAG Heuer Monaco Split-Seconds Chronograph
The anticipation soared when TAG Heuer unveiled a one-of-a-kind Monaco Split-Seconds Chronograph for Only Watch in 2023, sparking hopes for its integration into the permanent collection. While the brand had previously dabbled in split-seconds or rattrapante chronographs during the 1960s, primarily as stopwatches for sporting events, it wasn’t until quartz technology that this functionality found its way into wristwatches. Despite this legacy, the mechanical split-seconds chronograph eluded TAG Heuer’s repertoire until last year. With the introduction of the new calibre TH81-00, TAG Heuer has finally re-entered the realm of rattrapante, marking a significant milestone. For its debut, the new TAG Heuer Monaco Split-Seconds Chronograph arrives in two versions, each distinguished by racing red or classic Monaco-blue accents and echoing the avant-garde design ethos of the Only Watch edition. Encased within a black DLC-coated titanium 41mm square-shaped, 15.2 mm thick case, which
