Omega Speedmaster Chronoscope Collection - Hands-on Review, Price
Following numerous new models in the Speedmaster collection this year already (incl. the brand new Moonwatch), Omega is adding a new version to the range. A new Speedmaster? Yes, but this one is actually quite special; it comes with many unprecedented features and reintroduces a name that is dear to the brand. So, let’s go straight to the point: here’s the new Omega Speedmaster Chronoscope Collection, a new design, a new size, a new movement, the comeback of the Chronoscope name, a dial that echoes vintage watches from the brand… Let’s have a closer look. The Comeback of the name ChronoscopeThe name Chronoscope isn’t new to Omega. It was used during the mid-2000s in the De Ville collection as a name for its chronograph watches. In fact, it goes much deeper than this, since the first watch named Chronoscope by Louis Brandt (the company that would become Omega) dates back to 1885 – you can see this pocket watch below. But why Chronoscope? This requires

What would you do? Potential investment? - Monochrome Watches
Last year Panerai introduced two Special Editions with a vintage Minerva movement; the?rose gold PAM00398 and the stainless steel PAM00399. These are Radiomir variations with more solid lugs and a a different crown, however with the recognizable cusion-shape case. Already during the SIHH it was clear that there was a small mistake, because “stainless steeel” was engraved with one too many e’s. A painfull mistake one might think, however this is also how they have been delivered to some customers! Yes,?again a?painfull mistake. However… maybe this mistake will turn out to be a good investment? Ulysse Nardin Marine Chronometer Manufacture 2013 - Monochrome Watches
Ulysse Nardin is a visionary company. Such a declaration might seem overstated, especially when dealing with their longstanding, flagship model, the Marine Chronometer; however, remember Ulysse Nardin is the company who gave us the Freak, a genre-defying watch that was ahead of its time.Under the aegis of the late Rolf Schnyder, the company partnered with Ludwig Oechslin of now Ochs & Junior to realize the Freak in 2001. The visionary contribution of the Freak was not only its forward design, but, for our purposes here, it was the first watch to use a silicon escapement, followed by the Freak DIAMonSIL in 2007, which used a proprietary material called DIAMonSIL and silicon balance spring (see updated coverage here). When the winds of Swatch's ETA moratorium began to blow, Mr. Schnyder decided Ulysse Nardin needed its own in-house caliber. At Baselworld 2012, Current CEO Patrick Hoffman oversaw the introduction of the automatic caliber UN-118, the company's first base caliber, to th
Vacheron Constantin Patrimony Moon Phase Retrograde Date Excellence Platine
Presented in 2017, the Patrimony Moon Phase Retrograde Date is, undeniably, one of the most elegant and balanced watches in Vacheron Constantin‘s slightly modern collection – the more classic watches are grouped under the Traditionnelle collection. Mainly characterised by its display combining a retrograde date and a moon indicator, this watch, previously available in pink or white gold, now joins Vacheron’s full-platinum family. Let’s look at the new Vacheron Constantin Patrimony Moon Phase Retrograde Date Collection Excellence Platine. The concept behind the Collection Excellence Platine is pretty simple yet exceptionally executed. Take one of VC’s classic watches and make it the most high-end possible, visually monochromatic but also very sleek. As indicated by its name, this collection is all about platinum, which can be found on the case (obviously) but also on the dial and the thread used for the strap – which is always blue, the best match with
