Hublot Spirit Of Big Bang Meca-10 // Introducing, Specs & Price
Hublot is certainly most known for its luxury sports watches with shaped cases, fusion of material and integrated straps. There is, however, another collection at Hublot that we somehow tend to overlook, a collection of shaped watches, with a barrel-like case, the Spirit Of Big Bang. Part of the 2020 novelties presented in Dubai, Hublot introduced its 10-day power reserve movement in this collection with the Spirit Of Big Bang Meca-10.This combination is a first for Hublot. Indeed, for the first time the Spirit Of Big Bang,?a collection that is gaining importance at Hublot, is receiving the popular Meca-10 manufacture calibre. Why only now…? Well, since the Spirit Of Big Bang has a shaped case, encasing the Meca-10 movement required some important adaptations on the movement to make it shaped just like the case of this watch. Behind this watch lies the wish of Hublot to have harmony between cases and movements, meaning that the mechanics should follo
Hands-On IWC Big Pilot Monopusher Saint Exupery IW515204 (Price)
Having a good story to tell is a treasure trove for watch brands, and IWC secured a winning one in 2005 when it partnered with the heirs of Antoine de Saint-Exupery, aviator and author of the timeless novella, Le Petit Prince. Special editions of the Big Pilot's Watch, devoted to the author Antoine de Saint-Exupery and his legendary Prince, appeal to the hearts and minds of fans with their classic B-Uhr pilot watch styling. Following the debut of the Big Pilot Le Petit Prince with a monopusher chronograph last year, it's Antoine de Saint Exupery's turn to be kitted out with this complication. Presented in the emblematic Big Pilot's format in an 18k rose gold case, the new?IW515204 shares the exact specifications as the 2021 edition but is produced in even more reduced numbers and limited to 100 pieces. And when we say emblematic', we are referring to the 46.2mm version inspired by the massive 1940s B-Uhr watch, not the downsized 43mm that ruffled the feathers of some Big Pilot fans. The
What would you do? Potential investment? - Monochrome Watches
Last year Panerai introduced two Special Editions with a vintage Minerva movement; the?rose gold PAM00398 and the stainless steel PAM00399. These are Radiomir variations with more solid lugs and a a different crown, however with the recognizable cusion-shape case. Already during the SIHH it was clear that there was a small mistake, because “stainless steeel” was engraved with one too many e’s. A painfull mistake one might think, however this is also how they have been delivered to some customers! Yes,?again a?painfull mistake. However… maybe this mistake will turn out to be a good investment? We go hands-on with the robust and bold Tissot PRS 516 Chronograph
Tissot might be coming up for its 170th birthday next year, but it has always known how to keep pace with the times. As one of the first brands to court the exciting world of car racing in the late 1950s, Tissot and sporty chronographs have become natural allies. One of the brand's earliest watches inspired by the race track was the PR 516 of 1965; a novel steel sports watch with a perforated steel bracelet to simulate the holes found on the steering wheels of race cars. Earlier this year, Tissot revamped its PRS 516 Automatic Chronograph but didn't go down the vintage path. In a departure from the brand's Heritage collection with compelling remakes of vintage models, the PRS 516 is a thoroughly contemporary chronograph with a bold attitude, plenty of motorsport details and an aggressive price. Let's take a look at the black and blue versions of the PRS 516 Chronographs launched in March 2022 with a beefed-up Valjoux movement.Race TrackThe brand's first association with motorsports dat
