The loyal customers of Omega have a special spot for this particular brand. The dial has a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal cover with anti-reflective treatment inside. The dial base is white in color with red gold index mix. The markers are a mix of rectangular bars and roman numerals. Like the base design of the bracelet is a mix of stainless steel and red gold. Omega trademark stands tall and proud just above the center of the dial.

Why You Should Consider The IWC DoppelChronograph 3711
Welcome to The Collector's Corner, a new series of stories about watches from the 1980s, 1990s and early 2000s, and maybe the occasional watch from the 1970s. You could say, ‘post quartz-crisis watches’ or watches from the renaissance of high-end watchmaking or ‘youngtimers’ or ‘neo-vintage’. Whatever you (or we) call these watches, there are so many very cool watches from the aforementioned era that really deserve some renewed attention and that’s exactly what we will do in the Collector’s Corner instalments. We describe why we think they're cool and why they deserve your attention! The ‘neo-vintage’ watches, despite their own contributions to horology, remain overlooked and (often) under-appreciated and are just entering the cusp of vintage-dom. To understand the significance of this era, it's important to do a quick recap of the quartz crisis; so much has already been said on the subject that I promise to keep it short! And
Five watches presented this year that shows it's hip to be square
Heuy Lewis & The News sang “It’s Hip To Be Square” in their hit song from 1986 and in watches, you could kind of say the same. Amongst watches, square ones always tend to stand out a bit more, and few have even stood the test of time and earned the status of horological icon. Watches like the TAG Heuer Monaco or Cartier Santos need little introduction, really. But more recent offerings tend to tap into the same group of possible clientele that’s into square-shaped watches. And to be honest, I have two on my personal wishlist as well. there’s just something unique about having a square watch on the wrist. So with that in mind, we’re taking a closer look at 5 new watches with a square(-ish) case!TAG Heuer Monaco Purple EditionArguably one of the most famous square watches available, the TAG Heuer Monaco has become an icon thanks to a brilliant marketing ploy by Jack Heuer, using the Monaco Grand Prix and Steve McQueen to make it beyond cool. Ferdinand Berthoud Chronometre FB-1 "Oeuvre d'Or" SIAR 2019 - Specs & Price
The watches produced by Ferdinand Berthoud (Chopard’s sister, high-end brand) are fascinating and depict impressive mechanics and finishings. At the SIHH 2019, the brand introduced an exclusive limited edition watch, named the Chronometre FB1 “Oeuvre d’Or”. As part of Mexico City SIAR 2019 Salon, the brand introduces a new version of this watch with a novel solid white gold dial – still engraved, finished and patinated by hand.Since its rebirth in 2016, with the modern wristwatch Chronometre FB1, Ferdinand Berthoud has demonstrated its mastery of all watchmaking techniques, whether for the decoration of its watches or the technical aspects of its movements. The FB1 is the dream of Karl-Friedrich Scheufele, co-President of Chopard, and a tribute to one of the greatest watchmakers. As such, the main focus of the watches to bear his name are chronometry, precision and exclusivity. Ad - Scroll to continue with article
Independent Haute Horlogerie vs. the 'BIG Names' part 2 - Monochrome Watches
Independent watchmakers and the ‘BIG name’ brands are very different. Yet they all aim for the same goal, which is making (and selling) beautiful watches. In a series of articles i will share some?observations and thoughts. In my first chronicle about Independent Watchmakers & the ‘BIG name’ brands I wrote about the difference in reputation and the role of marketing. The ‘BIG names’ usually have a name that is well known to most people, especially among watch collectors. Not only a long history plays a role in this, also huge marketing budgets helps relatively new-comers to build a reputation very fast.Just take a look at these ads of Omega and Patek Philippe. They look familiar, don’t they? You have probably seen them in numerous magazines. And advertising in print media is expensive! Ad - Scroll to continue with article
EZA Watches Sealander, an interesting and affordable dive watch from a startup brand (live photos & price) - Monochrome Watches
Young startup brands are often presented to us via press materials. Not necessarily a bad thing of course, but it gets so much better when they can show you the final product (or one as close as 99% to production ready). EZA Watches (already introduced here) is one of those young brands, which managed to let us go hands-on with their first collection, the EZA Watches Sealander. So, after the introductory story, we now have the extensive review ready for your reading pleasure! And, this is essential, we are happy to be able to bring you an important piece of news at the same time: it gets rid of the Japanese movement and will be equipped with a Swiss ETA movement. And for the same price Not too bad, right. Now, to begin with the selected movement of the initial Sealander collection, it was something some people (including the ever-picky Monochrome-team) at least raised an eyebrow to. The initial movement was supposed to be a Japanese automatic Miyota, basically one of the widely availabl
