Cool Finds: Five Perpetual Calendars in Gold under €15k - Monochrome Watches
One of the things many watch collectors have in common, is that they’re always on the hunt for a next watch. Sometimes it’s just browsing the bay (we’re referring to Ebay of course) and other times it’s a specific search. For this purpose we often go to Chrono24, like today, and search for that one timepiece that can fill the void in our collection. One of the things we’ve been searching for, is a nice perpetual calendar in gold and we’ve found five that are listed below € 15k.?One thing you should always keep in mind, is the location of the timepiece. For people living in the EU it’s easy to buy and sell within the European Union, however when buying a watch from outside the EU, it will be charged with import tax when it passes customs. Similar for people in the US, Asia, or Down Under, be aware of this factor that will influence the final price.Piaget Perpetual Calendar in yellow goldFirst off is a Piaget, the brand that is best know for thei
Zenith Defy Classic - Baselworld 2018 (Specs & Price)
In 2017, Zenith relaunched the DEFY collection and impressed us with the?Defy El Primero 21, a?hundredth-of-a-second chronograph with a 50Hz?ultra-high-beat escapement dedicated only to the chrono. But that was not all. Later that year came the Defy LAB with its revolutionary and unprecedented oscillator – marking a real innovation. And finally, there was the new design, with an integrated case and bracelet, a large diameter and bold shapes. For Baselworld 2018, the design is kept but with more simplicity movement-wise – but not that simple either. Meet the?Zenith Defy Classic. The Zenith Defy collection represents modernity and innovation. It can be seen in the materials, in the technical solutions, and in the design. The Defy is bolder, yet it also remains true to some of the brand’s signature codes. It is the laboratory for innovative solutions – and remember that Zenith has always been an innovator, as the El Primero was not only one of the very first automat
First Look: Manufacture Fleury Revives the Legendary Lemania 2310 Chronograph Movement
Social media can be a wonderful tool. When we discovered the initial pictures of the new chronograph movement from Manufacture Fleury a few weeks back, it immediately tickled our interest. Now that the dust from Watches and Wonders has settled, we have contacted Jean-Marc Fleury to find out more A few days later, we hit the road to the outskirts of Geneva to visit his workshop and get our hands on several prototypes of his Chronograph FXR-4. And to check its movement, derived from one of the most beautiful calibres of all times: the Lemania 2310.An experienced professional in the watch industry, Jean-Marc Fleury has been manufacturing watch parts since 2017 through his company Suisse Precision Composants. In his workshops based in Choulex, on the outskirts of Geneva, he produces components, meticulously crafted in small series, with an approach mostly tailored for independent watchmakers. Driven by an inherent passion for the craft, Fleury naturally gravitated towards the creation of h
Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Control Chronograph Calendar 2020 Hands-On
Earlier this year, during the digital presentation of Watches & Wonders, Jaeger-LeCoultre unveiled a refreshed take on its Master Control collection. Among the four watches representing the updated 2020 design features is the Master Control Chronograph Calendar, a captivating combination of complications that immediately caught our eye. Equipped with a column-wheel chronograph and triple calendar display with moon phases, the Master Control Chronograph Calendar marks the first time JLC concocts this mix of complications. With its refined whiff of the 1950s without being a vintage throwback, this beautiful Master Control Chronograph Calendar is fitted with a new automatic in-house movement. Let's take a closer look at this compelling combo of complications.Master ControlIntroduced in 1992, the defining spirit of the Master Control collection is the combination of technical rigour with stylistic restraint drawing on inspiration from classic round timepieces made by JLC in the 1950s.
