Mechanical depth gauge - Monochrome Watches
A few years ago IWC was the first Swiss watch brand to make a high end mechanical watch with a mechanical depth gauge, the famous IWC Deep One. I can still remember the first time i saw that watch, it was for me the most beautiful divewatch i’d ever seen. And i guess untill this day it’s one of my favorite dive watches.Unfortunately IWC doesn’t produce them anymore, because the mechanical depth gauge gave them quite some trouble as i understood it. Now since last year there are some new high end watch brands bringing out a divewatch with a mechanical depth gauge, Panerai and Jaeger LeCoultre. Introducing: Omega Drops Multiple new Moonshine Gold Seamaster Aqua Terra
In the past few days, we’ve introduced a new (and really appealing) Bronze Gold CK 859 and reviewed the Paris 2024 Speedmaster Chronoscope… Which makes a lot of sense as we’re now right in the middle of the Olympics. But that’s not all for Omega, as we have more to introduce. Probably the brand’s most versatile and most classic collection, the Seamaster Aqua Terra expands once more – following recent versions with glossy black dials – with the addition of multiple new references cased in Moonshine gold, the brand’s proprietary yellow gold alloy.?Moonshine gold…? It started with Sedna Gold, the brand’s vision of pink gold, then followed by Canopus Gold (white gold) and Moo

Introducing the Don Kylne & Co watch, an elegant watch under 300 bucks - Monochrome-Watches
You know us here, at Monochrome-Watches, when it comes to horology, we’re snobs. We love complications, hand-finished movements or anything that stands out of the crowd (meaning independent watchmaking). However, there’s a point where all these beauties will still be dreams attached on our teenagers’ walls. We have to be realistic and admit that only a few of us will potentially buy a 6-figure watch. For this reason, from time to time, we have to show something affordable – but that still have some extra-features (and that is still is mechanical of course). Here is?the Don Kylne & Co watch, an elegant watch under 300?dollars.In the case you’re searching for your first?nice?watch or if you want to extend your collection and you don’t have a huge budget, the easy solution is to look for a quartz-operated watch with a design that suits you. Rado Captain Cook Bronze Burgundy (Hands-on, Price)
Since 2017, Rado has found a spot in the market for cool, vintage-oriented dive watches with its successful Captain Cook model. Largely associated with the use of high-tech ceramics, Rado also benefits from a rich history, and several emblematic watches from the past have been reintroduced. Inspired by a 1962 piece with a distinctive case/bezel design, the Captain Cook has been released in multiple iterations, such as compact 37mm limited editions and, more recently, some enlarged yet very appealing bronze versions. In addition to the green, grey/brown and blue models, today Rado launches a new and striking version: the Captain Cook Bronze Burgundy.A vintage example of the Rado Captain Cook – photo: Michael Stockton, Fratello WatchesAs explained in this article on the previous Captain Cook Bronze watches, this watch is inspired by a glorious and quite conspicuous watch produced by the brand during the golden age of the dive watch.
