First Look: The New Colours of the IWC Portugieser Chronograph
Chronographs made their way into the Portugieser family in 1995 with a sophisticated Valjoux-modified rattrapante (IW3712), followed by a classic chronograph, again with a modified Valjoux, in 1998 with the reference IW3714. And then, in 2020, IWC equipped it with a manufacture column-wheel chronograph movement to become the IW3716 (don’t miss our article comparing the two models). An iconic, timeless collection that bears many of its ancestor’s traits, the Portugieser Chronograph has adapted to the times with an ever-increasing range of dial colours and strap options. In this spirit, IWC introduces three very attractive versions of its Portugieser Chronograph with new dial colours.Nothing has changed regarding the specifications. The 30m water-resistant cases, available in 18k white gold, 18k 5N (red) gold, and stainless steel, have a 41mm diameter and a thickness of 13.1mm. Decorated with two finishings, the signature thin bezel and piston chronograph pushers are polished
Introducing: The More Compact Longines Spirit Zulu Time 39mm (Live Pics)
Charles Lindbergh, the first man to fly solo across the Atlantic in 1927, became a poster boy for Longines. Not only was the brand in charge of measuring the official flight time of his epic feat, but it worked together with Lindbergh to create the famous navigation watch – Hour Angle – for pilots. Famous aviators associated with the brand, like Amelia Earhart, Elinor Smith, or the tycoon Howard Hughes, relied on Longines’s onboard chronometers and wristwatches for their exploits. Longines launched its successful Spirit collection in 2020, capitalising on its rich heritage. The Spirit Zulu Time, a genuine traveller’s GMT, joined the collection in 2022 in a 42mm format. It certainly looks like Longines has kept its ear to the ground and picked up petitions from different watch forums clamouring for a smaller edition of its GMT Pilot’s watch as it unveils three new compact models Spirit Zulu Time 39mm?with a chronometer-certified movement.Zulu Time is a term
First Look: The Full Gold IWC Ingenieur Automatic 40
Launched in 2023, the Ingenieur Automatic 40 pays tribute to the bold design of the Ingenieur SL Ref. 1832, created by Gerald Genta in the 1970s. While staying true to its iconic aesthetic, the re-engineered model offers improved ergonomics and refined finishing. As gold was also used to make the 1970s Ingenieur SL Ref. 9232, it's only fitting that IWC introduces a new Ingenieur Automatic 40 crafted in this precious metal. Its case, case back ring, bezel, crown guard, crown, and bracelet links are all gold, adding plenty of luxury to this legendary design. The new full-gold Ingenieur Automatic 40 maintains the signature case design of its steel and titanium counterparts, including the five functional bezel screws and dimensions - a 40mm diameter with a slim profile under 11mm. It features a convex sapphire crystal with AR coating and now introduces a transparent sapphire caseback. The satin-finished and polished gold surfaces add a refined touch, while its 100m water resistance is a sig
Pre-SIHH: Introducing the Richard Mille RM 33-01 Automatic - Monochrome-Watches
The ballet of the SIHH (the Geneva watch fair) novelties just began. One of the first to come with a new timepiece is?Richard Mille, a brand that we do love here at Monochrome-Watches for its exclusivity:?unusual design and spirit, exclusive materials, astonishing finishing, distinctive complications and innovations. If most of the watches made by Richard Mille are highly?masculine, with a strong design, the brand also knows how to create more reasonable (by RM standards of course) watches. And that’s what?the new Richard Mille RM 33-01 Automatic is, a round, thin watch with a less sporty?approach.Don’t be fooled by our?introduction. When we say that the?Richard Mille RM 33-01 Automatic is reasonable, we have to keep in mind that we are talking about a RM. Don’t imagine that the movement is simple or less finished. Of course, it is not as crazy as a?Richard Mille RM 022 Aerodyne Dual Time Zone – with its dial and movement’s plates made of carbon nanotubes
The new Piaget Polo Date Black Automatic 42 - Hands-on, Specs & Price

Piaget's interpretation of the luxury sports watch, the Polo made its debut in 1979 and underwent a radical makeover in 2016. Piaget, the fourth generation of the Piaget dynasty, was the brainchild of the Polo.
