OMEGA Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M Master Chronometer keeps intact with its roots, which happen to be submerged underwater. This model is a mix of optimum functionality and utter beauty with its white ceramic dial and unidirectional bezel. A scratch-resistant sapphire crystal protects the Arabic numerals and an OMEGA Ceragold diving scale embellishing the pure dial which already has a date window at 3 o'clock. This 39.5 mm stainless steel and 18K Sedna? gold case is water-resistant to 600 meters and also has a helium-escape valve. The white leather strap holds up this timepiece driven by the OMEGA Master Chronometer Calibre 8800 that can be seen through the transparent caseback.

A. Lange & Sohne 1815 Chronograph Now In Pink Gold (SIHH 2018) - Monochrome Watches
A. Lange & Sohne has introduced another iteration of its classic 1815 Chronograph this year at SIHH, now cased in warm 18ct pink gold but with the same iconic pulsation dial. Considered by many to be the ultimate expression of a purist chronograph, these latest versions will be sure to strike a chord with collectors, who now find themselves literally spoilt for choice. Will it be the distinctive and powerful black dial or the equally elegant yet slightly more understated argente dial? Perhaps one of each? We can dream. ?By now, I think I can safely assume that you are familiar with the A. Lange & Sohne 1815 Chronograph. After all, we have written about this awesome watch several times before here on MONOCHROME, including this stunning version with a black dial and white gold case that was released last year. Perhaps more significant, however, was the Boutique Edition from 2015, which we covered here. Why was it so special, you ask? Well, the main reason is because it heralded a
Recap: The Best Calendar Watches Of 2023
Next up in our rundown of this year’s ‘Greatest Hits’ is a list of calendar watches, specifically Annual and Perpetual Calendar watches. Looking back at what brands have brought to the table in this category only confirms the appeal of a watch that keeps track of more than just the passing of time. With indications that need little to no adjustments over the year, these calendar watches are some of the most complex on the market. But they come at a price as these complications are a) not easy to come by and b) not exactly affordable. Nevertheless, here is MONOCHROME’s selection of the Best Calendar Watches from 2023!From classy to robust and from ultra-thin to oversized, this list will take you in all directions. The preselection for the calendar watch category wasn’t as expansive as the Best of Chronograph or Dive watch lists, but there was real debate within the team to narrow it down to just five. A few exceptional watches didn’t make the cut but
First Look: IWC Portugieser Automatic 40 & 42
This year is all about the Portugieser for IWC, and the brand brings several spending novelties to the table, including updated icons within the already iconic collection. Next to the Portugieser Chronograph receiving an aesthetic update, there are a couple more things to talk about. As a collection, the Portugieser can trace back its roots to the 1930s, when IWC adopted highly precise pocket watch movements in wrist-worn watches. In the decades that followed, the Portugieser has evolved into one of IWC’s evergreens, known for its style and refinement. The range comprises simple automatic watches all the way to tourbillons and perpetual calendars. But in the case of the simpler Portugieser, there’s plenty to be discovered with the new IWC Portugieser Automatic 40mm & 42mm editions. For the Portugieser Automatic 40mm and 42mm versions, IWC has again adopted the play of colour, with dials inspired by the passing of the day into night and back into day again. Besides that,
Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional Canopus Gold Hands-On
Yesterday, we took an in-depth look at the new steel Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional Co-Axial, both sapphire and Hesalite models – with all you need to know in order to decide which model to choose. A strong evolution of one of the most timeless and iconic watches of the industry. In addition to these classic and fairly-priced steel models, Omega also re-introduced the Moonwatch in precious metals – with proprietary alloys, in Sedna or Canopus gold. The latter, with its combination of white metal case and silver-coloured dial made quite an impression on enthusiasts, so we decided to give this handsome version a closer look, in a dedicated article. Expensive, but stunning…?The Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional is typically the kind of watch that you imagine made of stainless steel. And rightfully so, since it has mostly been made in this commoner metal its entire life. Whether earliest 1957 models or the late 2020 editions were first and foremost sports instruments
