The Omega chronometer Aqua Terra is one beautiful watch. The silver and teak combination makes the watch look classic. The watch is a tribute to Omega's maritime heritage, and Aqua Terra lives to the mark most definitely. The watch features a sapphire crystal at the top, with a silver dial and a brown second hand which makes every tick extravagant. There is also a date window present at 6 o'clock and is waterproof up to 500 feet.

Appointments at LVMH: New Head of Watchmaking Division and Frederic Arnault Head of Strategy at TAG Heuer - Monochrome Watches
In an article published yesterday by French business magazine Challenges (see the article here, in French), it seems that the Watchmaking Division of LVMH (TAG Heuer, Hublot, Zenith) is about to be reshuffled. The article mentions (without sources or quotes) two important appointments: Frederic Arnault, the 23-year-old son of Bernard Arnault (CEO of LVMH), gets a new position at TAG?Heuer and?Stephane Bianchi is appointed as the head of the?Watchmaking Division.?First, it appears that a young man, Frederic Arnault, Bernard’s penultimate son (aged 23), takes on a much more important position at TAG Heuer. Already appointed Head of Connected Watches at TAG in July 2017, he will now be the Head of Strategy and Digital of the brand. Passionate about new technologies, this recent Polytechnique graduate (just like his father) was already in charge of the brand’s 2.0 products, yet he’s now offered a much wider position at TAG Heuer, a brand with revenues of EUR 900 million.T

Our Favourite Watches of "Time To Move" Swatch Group Event - Monochrome Watches
The news broke last summer – Nick Hayek announced that from 2019 onwards, Swatch Group and its brands would no longer be present at Baselworld. As a consequence, the luxury powerhouse decided to organise its own product presentation “Time To Move” for its most luxurious brands: Breguet, Blancpain, Glashutte Original, Harry Winston, Jaquet Droz and Omega. First for retailers in Zurich in March, and then for the press in each of the brand's Manufactures (except for Glashutte Original). Held mid-May, the unveiling of these novelties came later than usual and we were very curious to see what surprises the Swatch Group high-end brands had in store for us. Here are our favourite watches from “Time To Move” - which we have limited to just one watch per brand.Note: this selection is based on a consensus among the MONOCHROME team. It reflects our preferences of the watches unveiled during “Time To Move”. If there are other watches you'd love to mention,
Interview - The Online Watch Market - Eneuri Acosta From Hodinkee
Last but not least, to finish our series that aims at deciphering the world of online watch marketplaces, we’ve decided to talk to the leader of the pack (let’s be honest, credit where credit is due): HODINKEE. What started as a hobby and a sheer passion for watches by Ben Clymer has now grown to a large magazine and an e-commerce website focused on watches and everything related to watches – something that has generated its fair share of debate. For some, editorial and commercial activities shouldn’t coexist. So, in order to shed light on the commercial part of the equation, we leave the stage to HODINKEE’s COO,?Eneuri Acosta.Could you give us a short history of Hodinkee?HODINKEE was founded in 2008 by Ben Clymer as nothing more than a humble blog about vintage watches that he personally liked.?Ben's grandfather gifted him an Omega Speedmaster Mk40, so one day while bored at work he starting researching this watch and quickly discovered other notable and
Doxa Sub300 50th Anniversary - Review, History, Specs & Price
At Baselworld 2016, Doxa introduced its 50th Anniversary Sub300 model, a great dive watch with unquestionable pedigree. So we, at Monochrome, eagerly waited for a prototype to arrive at the HQ for a review. Once a black-dial Sharkhunter variant received, we immediately put it to its paces comparing, debating and discussing about it. That is the purpose of this article: make you understand how important and cool this watch is. However, before I proceed with my assessment, I feel that a short overview of the history of the company is needed to put things into a proper perspective. Background - Doxa through historyDoxa was founded by Georges Ducommun as Georges Ducommun, Fabriques Doxa in 1889 in Le Locle, Switzerland. The company rose to prominence in 1908 with the introduction of an 8-day watch movement, which offered motorists and aviators a dash-mounted timepiece providing greater ease of reading. Doxa patented an instrument, using this movement, purpose-built to be mounted on cars' an
