This model from Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 150M Master Chronometer Blue Steel/Rubber 41mm is a luxury timepiece surpassing all beauty in its way. The self-winding timepiece has a power reserve of sixty hours; whereas, with a transparent back and fixed bezel, the dial remains protected by a domed scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment on either side. The timepiece is secured with a rubber strap which, if chosen wisely, fits the wrist of the wearer perfectly.

The SIHH to welcome 9 creative & Independent Manufactures - Monochrome-Watches
Until now, the SIHH, the watch fair held in January, was known to be a very luxurious exhibition that almost exclusively focuses on the Richemont Group brands. The FHH (Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie), host of the SIHH, just decided to change the format, first by bringing a new architectural concept, but mainly by adding to the list of the exhibiting maisons 9 independent watchmakers – and not the worst ones to be honest.Until now, the SIHH or Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie, was hosted the Geneva-based watch fair for 16 brands. 12 of them are owned by the Richemont Group – A. Lange & Sohne, Baume & Mercier, Cartier, IWC, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Montblanc, Panerai, Piaget, Roger Dubuis, Van Cleef & Arpels and Vacheron Constantin (plus Ralph Lauren watches that is operated by Richemont). In addition to?them, 4 other very high-end manufactures were present: Audemars Piguet, Greubel Forsey?(Richemont owns shares),?Parmigiani Fleurier, and Richard Mille.
Hands-on IWC Big Pilot Perpetual Calendar Racing Green IW503005
IWC Schaffhausen's emblematic Big Pilot's Watch collection is of great historical relevance and has evolved from a purely functional piece to more of a statement watch if there ever as one. The very idea of legibility and oversized cases is still very much alive and serves the BP collection well.?This year alone, several new models have been released already, including a smaller time-only model, the Big Pilot 43, a rather cool Top Gun Mojave Desert edition and the incredible Schock Absorber XPL. The latest in line, adding complexity and colours in the process, is the IWC Big Pilot's Watch Perpetual Calendar Edition Racing Green IW503005.When it comes to the Big Pilot’s Watch, a few things are established; an oversized case with a large diamond-shaped crown and a dial as clean and legible as possible. After all, the original Big Pilot's Watch 52 S.C. served a very clear purpose and that spirit hasn't changed much ever since. However, as the very necessity for such a watch has evol
IWC Aquatimer Chronograph Edition Expedition Jacques-Yves Cousteau - REVIEW with exclusive photos, specs and price - Monochrome Watches
This year IWC introduced an entirely renewed Aquatimer collection. That literary means that ALL Aquatimer models have been redesigned and now feature the same design cues, and, more importantly, functional feats like the new Dive-Safe system; an externally operational internal dive-time bezel (still with us?) We tried the IWC Aquatimer Chronograph Edition ?Expedition Jacques-Yves Cousteau for some weeks for this review and liked it more and more during the test period. The IWC Aquatimer Chronograph Edition Expedition Jacques-Yves Cousteau (a mouthful) is a special edition, based on the Aquatimer Chronograph. It features a?recognizable blue dial that previous ?Expedition Jacques-Yves Cousteau also had. It commemorates Cousteau's fantastic voyages and films that made millions aware of the beauty of the underwater world. His movies educated people around the world, about the underwater world, in times that most people didn’t have a clue about what was going on under that blue surfac
Panerai's desire to move up - Monochrome Watches
Panerai’s desire to move up? That’s at least what it seems like, now they’ve come with a bunch of new models featuring their new in-house movements.Over the last few months Panerai has introduced a number of new models, featuring their own new in-house movements… and a new price list. And since I’ve been planning to buy a new brother for my old PAM 00001 B series (1999), I had a good look at the new price list. Ad - Scroll to continue with article I don’t want to buy another Panerai with the same movement as my beloved old PAM 00001, which is a ETA/Unitas 6497 with reworked bridges and a much better finish. So the in-house movements sound interesting… A few weeks ago I already showed photos of one of the new Panerai models and now I finally know the price… which was a bit of a shock. As usual, my taste transcends m
A Personal Insight To Why I Bought the Union Glashutte 1893 Johannes Durrstein
I’m very fortunate (and spoilt, in a way) to handle hundreds of watches every year working for MONOCHROME Watches. To the point that I almost have to admit it’s not that easy to be impressed anymore, but it does happen from time to time. Of course, it’s not that difficult to be amazed by very complex and exquisitely finished watches, but I have to take a certain budget into account when it concerns my own collecting adventures. But when I first stepped into the Union Glashutte manufacture about a year ago, I did not expect to be swept off my feet. The reason for this unexpected love-at-first-sight moment? The handsome 1893 Johannes Durrstein Edition Power Reserve, which I wrote about first in 2022. Seeing it in person made me pull the trigger on this one, which was far from planned, given I had a wedding to pay for shortly after that. Despite all this, and since I now own one, I wanted to revisit the 1893 Johannes Durrstein Edition Power Reserve for my own – and
