Womens Watch Wednesday - Ulysse Nardin Classico Lady Grand Feu (Specs & Price)
Color - it is essence of life and Earth, and for many, it offers inspiration and makes a keen statement of individuality. Such is the case with the newest women's Classico Lady Grand Feu watches from Ulysse Nardin unveiled earlier this year and in stores now.A brand renowned for its marine heritage, its dive and water watches, as well as for its complicated repeaters, sonneries, automatons, Freak and more - Ulysse Nardin never ceases to delight us with its softer side. From its well-known Jade watch with twist crown instead of pullout crown (to save women's fingernails), to its women's Marine line and the Classico Lady, Ulysse Nardin regularly offers both form and function in its women's watches - sometimes with a bit more form or a bit more function depending on the watch. Omega Watches Launches Its Online Boutique in Europe
In tune with the times – and also with the current situation, with most brick-and-mortar shops closed – Omega goes digital and now offers the possibility for European collectors to purchase most of its watches online, via a newly opened boutique on its official website. This means that you can now order your Speedy or your Bond watch from home, and directly from the brand. The concept of an online boutique isn’t new to Omega Watches since the brand has been operating digital sales in the US and UK markets for a couple of years now – the US market benefited from the brand’s first online boutique back in 2017. Relying on this existing and successful track-record, the brand has decided to open its online boutique to the European market, with a wide selection of watches from the Speedmaster, Seamaster, Constellation and De Ville collections. Patek Philippe Nautilus Travel Time Chronograph ref. 5990/1A Replaces the Steel Nautilus Chronograph ref. 5980/1A - Monochrome Watches
This is quite something. Just two years ago Patek Philippe introduced a new 5980/1A with white dial (for laymen: that’s the Nautilus Chronograph) and now, two years later, they discontinue the steel 5980/1A models and replace it with a steel Nautilus Chronograph with a second time zone, as we know it from the Aquanaut Travel Time ref. 5164.That means that the 5980/1A-019 (the white dial Nautilus Chrono) has been in production for just two year. Since we’re talking about Patek, productions numbers are rather low, and this reference is now a very rare bird and we expect it to become very collectible. Although the other steel 5980/1A models are not as rare (but super rare compared to a Submariner for instance), we would not be surprised if the prices climb, now the demand cannot be fulfilled at the Patek boutique anymore and only on the second hand market. Now on to the newbie in the Nautilus family, which has an additional second time zone function, that looks and functions j
Interview: Italian Watchmaker Marc & Darno And A Fascination For Astronomy
It’s no secret that the MONOCHROME editorial Team loves independent watchmakers, as it’s one of the very reasons we exist in the first place. Although we often gravitate towards the better-known names like Dufour, Voutilainen, Moser and MB&F, there’s a host of indies waiting to be discovered. In a quest to bring you new and exciting stories from all over the world, we’ve been to South Korea, India, Australia, Canada, Germany and beyond. Today, though, we make a stop in Italy to bring you the story of Marc & Darn¨° and his very intriguing astronomical watches.Robin, MONOCHROME Watches – Marc & Darn¨° Watches is an unknown name to us and many others. Can you tell us who you are and what you do? Ad - Scroll to continue with article My name is Marco Guarino, and I was born in Chieri, a city in the province of Turin, Italy, in
Pre-Watches & Wonders 2015: Vacheron Constantin Chronograph Historiques Cornes de vache 1955 (specs & price) - Monochrome-Watches
Let’s get straight down to it. This is probably one of the best looking dress-chronographs seen recently. Although we tend to keep objectivity at?the center of our articles, Vacheron’s latest?offer just looks superb. Based on a vintage watch from 1955 (that will be explained later), this new timepiece has it all: the right diameter, the right amount of Heritage, a superb movement and a dial that is… well you can see it. Here is the?Vacheron Constantin Chronograph Historiques Cornes de vache 1955 to be introduced at Watches & Wonders 2015.Yes, there’s one default: its name. ‘Cornes de Vache‘ stands for ‘cow horns‘. Not the sexiest name ever for sure, you would have to agree. Some old Vacheron-Constantin were nicknamed ‘teardrops‘, which is as evocative but easier to explain to non-collectors. However, that ‘Cornes de Vache‘?name has a link with an historical piece from the old manufacture. The?Vacheron Constanti
