A. Lange & Sohne Saxonia Annual Calendar U.S. Boutique Edition (Specs & Price)
While A. Lange & Sohne tends to be quite conservative in its design, it can sometimes get a little bit more creative when it comes to limited editions or boutique exclusive watches – think, for instance, about the 1815 Chrono Boutique Edition or the Terra-Brown Saxonia. Today, the brand is unveiling a new version of the Saxonia Annual Calendar, which for the occasion has been spruced up with a new dial and a surprising strap. Meet the new?A. The Studio Ghibli x Seiko Presage Nausica? SPB437 Caught Me By Surprise In A Good Way
As someone working in the industry seeing hundreds if not thousands of watches each year, I often label a watch as a potential “yes” or “no” based on a press release or a couple of images. I’m sure, to some extent, that the same goes for collectors and enthusiasts. Sometimes, I’ll dismiss a watch for myself – not saying that it’s a bad watch whatsoever – but because I feel it doesn’t resonate with me enough to consider a purchase. But, I wholeheartedly admit that sometimes, I have to backtrack after I get to handle the watch in question and change my thoughts on it because it genuinely surprises me. That’s exactly what happened with one of Seiko’s latest releases, the Studio Ghibli Nausica? of the Valley of the Wind SPB437 limited edition.?It’s often said that collaborations are a dime-a-dozen these days and that they have lost most of their lustre in the process, and I fully agree. Collaborations have become
Interview with Richard Krajicek - IWC's Friend of the Brand - Monochrome Watches
I think we don't have to explain the concept of brand ambassadors and that most high-end watch brands have a “few” celebrities that can be considered “Friend of the Brand. Globally IWC has quite a few friends of the brand, and also in every market there are some local friends of the brand. We had the chance to sit down with Richard Krajicek, former tennis champion who won Wimbledon in 1996, defeating Pete Sampras in the quarterfinals – Sampras' only defeat between 1993 and 2000! Krajicek retired from the ATP circuit in 2003 and in 2004 he became tournament director of the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam. He also runs the Richard Krajicek Foundation, which builds sports facilities for children in inner-city areas in the Netherlands. That's why we think that Krajicek is the perfect brand ambassador for IWC. His own foundation and the Laureus Sports for Good foundation that IWC supports, show quite some resemblance. What was your first expensive timepi

After the unique Patek Philippe 5208T for Only Watch 2017 we’ve just introduced to?you, you might think that you’ve seen the best of the upcoming charity auction… but you’d be wrong, as?F.P.Journe will have a unique?Chronographe Monopoussoir Rattrapante (the first split-seconds he has ever created), with the usual tantalum / blue chrome combination. And that is quite something! For Only Watch 2015, F.P.Journe previously?proffered a visually stunning watch, the Tourbillon Souverain Bleu in tantalum. However, as beautiful this watch was, and even if it did reach an impressive CHF?550,000, it was not an entirely new watch per se,?but rather a visual update of an existing model. For 2017,?F.P.Journe goes much, much?further, as not only has he introduced a new and unique watch, but notably one which also features?an entirely new movement – and?when you know the genius behind this brand, then you have good reason to be?excited! The E.C. Andersson North Sea II (Specs & Price)
Today, we are going hands-on with an interesting new watch from a brand we first wrote about in 2016. Back then, Swedish brand E.C. Andersson was running a Kickstarter campaign to fund its first model, the military/marine inspired North Sea. As you may recall, the campaign was ultimately successful, and the first collection sold out. Now, the team are back with their second collection, the North Sea II, which looks very similar to the first version but features a number of subtle, yet important, updates. Given the popularity of the original model, keeping the same aesthetic is definitely not a bad thing. Read on for our detailed review of this comfortable yet robust timekeeper, that's happily, still also very affordable.Scandinavian design is renowned for its focus on functional simplicity, without compromising on the details and North Sea II certainly lives up this reputation. The overall design has a certain rawness to it, giving the watch something of an industrial look and feel. It
