Watches NEWS
A. Lange & Sohne Lange 1 Time Zone 25th-Anniversary (Specs & Price)
The Lange 1 is the foundation watch of the Saxon brand's renaissance. Presented on 24th October 1994, along with three other inaugural models, the Lange 1 best encapsulates the spirit of the brand. With its multiple references to the original 19th-century Lange watchmaking adventure in Dresden, its asymmetric dial and hallmark outsize date, the Lange 1 has become the most recognised face of the brand. This year marks the 25th?anniversary of the icon and ALS has decided to celebrate this landmark with not one, not two, but ten-anniversary pieces! So that none of the excitement is lost, the watches are being unveiled one by one. The fifth model is the Lange 1 Time Zone, a white gold GMT watch designed for globetrotters. The longest birthday party Do you remember the scene in Walt Disney's Alice in Wonderland when the Mad Hatter and the March Hare are singing a very merry unbirthday to you? The idea behind this nonsense song is that since we only have one birthday a year, the remaining 364
Hands-On - Bvlgari Octo Finissimo Skeleton Sandblasted Rose Gold (Specs & Price)
At Baselworld 2018, Bvlgari continued the expansion of its award-winning Octo Finissimo collection – and in the nicest possible way, with the world’s thinnest automatic and tourbillon watch, as well as a trilogy of automatic watches in sandblasted titanium, steel or gold. The latter – which we described in details here – clearly gave the collection its own personality. This is why the?Octo Finissimo Skeleton, previously available in titanium, full black and two-tone, is now changing style with a?Sandblasted Rose Gold case, in order to be coherent with the latest introductions. What you see here won’t be Bvlgari’s talking piece of the year. It is basically a change of material and finishing on an existing watch. Nothing more… However, this isn’t a reason not to have a second look at the?Bvlgari Octo Finissimo Skeleton, especially in this new?Sandblasted Rose Gold version – which is, admittedly, perfectly in line with the overall Octo
Introducing: The new Omega Speedmaster Pilot Flight Qualified
While the Speedmaster started its life as a racing chronograph destined to measure average speeds (hence its name), it quickly changed vocation when, during the 1960s, it became the watch of choice for US Air Force pilots and, of course, NASA astronauts. From there, the Speedmaster became one of the most famous pilot’s chronographs and this Omega watch enjoyed a long history in the skies. Now, there is a new model in the collection that will somehow look familiar, not only due to its resemblance with the vintage Flightmaster?but also because some might have seen a US military-issued model on Instagram and forums. It’s time to discover the new Omega Speedmaster Pilot Flight Qualified.?This new Speedmaster Pilot Flight Qualified doesn’t come out of the blue. As said, it is clearly inspired by the Flightmaster, a watch launched in 1969 as a variant of the Speedmaster line, yet engineered and marketed towards pilots exclusively, with its easily identifiable sections and a
Auction: Top Lots Of The Upcoming Indie Watchmaking Geneva Sale of Ineichen
Spring in Geneva means many things, and not just walks around the Lake. It is, of course, the auction season. Alongside the Big Three (Christie’s, Sotheby’s and Phillips), other auction houses will organise their sales in the capital of watchmaking. This year, Swiss Maison Ineichen Auctioneers will hold its first auction in Geneva on May 9, 10 and 11, 2023. And for its first participation in the Geneva auction weekend, the Zurich-based house presents a rather impressive selection of watches entirely dedicated to independent and small creative brands composed predominantly of unique pieces and extremely rare watches.?In this article, we’ve selected six watches that we believe are the best of the sale, but of course, there are many more watches to discover. A tourbillon T30 by FP Journe? Yes, there’s one. A Czapek Antacrtique Rattrapante, a De Bethune DB1 (the first watch of the brand) or a watch by Thierry Ducret? Ineichen will have that too. There are even a few
First Look: Wristcheck x Atelier Wen Perception ´«³Ð with Seconde/Seconde/
Just like the phoenix rises from its ashes, something beautiful can emerge from destruction. Or, in this case, almost destruction… What you see here should not have existed. What you see here should have gone straight into the trash, resulting from rejection at quality control and not passing the desired standards. What you see here is a watch that celebrates resilience and redemption. What you see here is a watch that feels familiar for a reason, but?that has been given a sense of artful dismissal by its creators and a well-known guest who’s all about twisting things. What you see here is the Wristcheck x Atelier Wen Perception ´«³Ð with Seconde/Seconde/, and it should not have existed. But it does.?Looking closely at this new edition of the Atelier Wen Perception, you are bound to recognise its Jade green dial colour, its integrated design and its highly intricate dial pattern. For the most part, this new take on the Chinese-inspired and partially made luxury sports watch i
