A One-on-one Interview with an American Hero: Captain Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger - Monochrome Watches
Heroes are giants – gods among us mere mortals. Heroes are larger-than-life figures who occupy the stratosphere, enjoying the view from mount Olympus as the twenty-four hour news channels immortalize them. In making their feats appear effortless, they gain our admiration, nay our devotion, and sometimes in feats of mythic proportion, our worship. Aviators have ascended this pedestal, and to the annals, which include such names as Charles Lindbergh (see here), we can add Captain Sully and include him in the pantheon of heroes. JEANRICHARD, however, would correct our hero misconceptions with their interpretation of ordinary people doing extraordinary things. In this regard, Captain Sully is a perfect match for the brand. If the name Sully doesn’t immediately jog your memory, let me share the mental image of an airplane floating in the Hudson river with the aircraft intact and no casualties. From those images, the world learned that Captain Sullenberger piloted his disabled cra
Interview - Max Verstappen on F1 and Watches & the new TAG Heuer Verstappen Edition
Following the controversial outcome of the Brazilian Grand Prix, we had the chance to sit down with the hottest ticket on the grid right now as TAG Heuer releases a new watch dedicated to Max Verstappen. Third in line, after the orange and red strap versions from 2016 and 2017, we now get a metal bracelet. It’s still a quartz movement though, as TAG Heuer targets a younger crowd, not necessarily into mechanical watchmaking. The previous models were riddled with details to remind you of the Dutch driver. Of course, the national colour Orange was incorporated and the TAG Heuer Formula 1 Max Verstappen Special Edition 2016 came on an orange rubber strap. The red-white-and-blue of Holland’s flag is also present in all the watches. Besides colour, the number 33 is also referenced in the watches, and the tachymeter scale for the TAG Heuer Formula 1 Max Verstappen Special Edition 2017 was red from zero to thirty-three.Since quartz is not really our thing at
Omega Seamaster Diver 300M - Underwater Dive Review (Specs & Price)
Let's play a word association game. When you hear the name Omega, what is the first thing that pops into your head? If you're like me, it instantly conjures up thoughts of Speedmaster chronographs and space exploration. This is no small thanks to Omega's marketing prowess and (well-deserved) pride at being on the wrists of the men who boldly went where no man had gone before. But it is at the other pinnacle of exploration where you will find the longest-running watch in Omega's vast catalogue: the Seamaster. Based on the success and watchmaking know-how they honed making over 110,000 timepieces for the British military during World War II, the first Seamaster was a robust, do-it-all timepiece, with even better water resistance than its

Protecting the oceans, as well as water (and everything living in it) in general, has become a recurring goal for Oris, with frequent launches of limited editions of its dive watches linked to a good cause – think Aquis Date Relief, ‘Source of Life’ Limited Edition or Clipperton Limited Edition. Following its tradition of adding new colours and new complications to its signature Aquis dive watch,? and as part of the Baselworld 2019 collection, the brand introduces the Oris Great Barrier Reef III Limited Edition.?Restoring the reefAs suggested by its name, the Oris Great Barrier Reef III Limited Edition is the third watch (see the second model here) Oris has linked to the world's largest and most diverse reef system (so big – 2,600km long – it can be seen from space) but since 2015 and the second model in the series, the situation has far from improved. In fact, it's got worse. Two hot summers in 2016 and 2017 led to a series of coral bleaching events leavi
