Hands-On IWC Big Pilot's Watch 43 Spitfire Titanium IW329701 & Bronze IW329702
When IWC Schaffhausen presented a downsized, tamer 43mm edition of its Big Pilot’s watch in April this year, there were mixed reactions. For purists, anything smaller than 46.2mm did not cut it as a Big Pilot, but for consumers interested in getting their hands on the archetypal pilot’s watch, the news was well-received. Along with its iconic Big Pilot looks, a simplified display, new interchangeable strap system, and more importantly, a more accessible price tag, the 43mm proved a more versatile, more wearable option for many. The latest editions joining the Big Pilot’s Watch 43 collection bring the vintage flair of the Spitfire sub-collection with an evocative bronze model with a military green dial (IW329702) and a sandblasted titanium case with a classic black pilot’s dial (IW329701).B-Uhren backgroundLike many watch manufactures, IWC was conscripted in the war effort to produce watches. Referred to as the “Grosse Fliegeruhr” or Big Pilot’s

The Collectors Series - Martin talks about his American-made RGM PS-801-E - Monochrome Watches
Martin Gluck is a fascinating gentleman. An army Psychologist and watch collector – he has direct family links to the watch world, as well as a wide ranging collection. His?grandfather (after whom he is named), operated the first watchmaker’s supplies business in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. When his father was 18 years old he went on the road as a salesman for his family business. After Martin Gluck Sr.’s death, the brothers split up and his father ran his own watchmakers supply business. Martin can recall playing with unwound main springs as a child, but having no idea what they were! Eventually his father went to work for a national wholesale?jewelry?corporation. During this time he?can remember him wearing a gold Waltham and several Gruen watches. In this interview we discuss his wider interest in watches as well as his stunning RGM. It was a joy discussing watches and their stories – one watch geek to another.?So Martin, what was the first watch? A

Just Because: The Uber-Comfortable And Durable Stripa Strap
It’s not often we venture into the world of watch accessories, so when we do, you can be assured it’s a product we stand by. A couple of months ago we were approached by a man called Peter B¨¢lint Sinka, who started a company called Stripa Strap. With the clue being somewhat hidden in plain sight given the name, we are looking at yet another watch strap company. But in all honesty, I was very intrigued when I dug a little deeper and saw what was on offer. So, talking to Sinka for a bit, I ordered one, strapped it to my trusty Tudor Black Bay 79220N, and took it for a little spin! And without getting ahead of myself too much, I can honestly say this is the most comfortable strap I have ever experienced!Peter B¨¢lint Sinka and his wife, Klaudia Tisza, founded Stripa Strap in 2023 after spending a couple of years developing an idea into an actual product. Developing and designing something from the ground up is no easy thing and takes time, money and determination. The whole ide
