Weekly Watch Photo - Greubel Forsey Invention Pieces - Monochrome Watches
I’ve just returned from London where I visited SalonQP. For me it an absolute blast and I think it’s the best watch fair, that is?open for the public,?that I’ve visited so far. Being in London anyway I had to use the opportunity to check out the unique pieces that many brands made for Marcus Watches. Although I’ve seen quite a few magnificent and over-impressive timepieces, the “Marcus-experience” was simply mind-blowing. Ad - Scroll to continue with article Of course there were the unique HM4 that MB&F made for Marcus, the set of 10 unique DLC coated platinum Greubel Forsey timepieces and two unique UR-CC1 Cobra made by URWERK. But there was more, so much more… I have never seen so many top pieces gathered in one collection that it felt like visiting a true horological museum.Besides and overwhelming collection of A
Breitling for Bentley Light Body Midnight Carbon Chronograph - Monochrome Watches
If you can get a car in green, yellow or black, what color do you choose? Black. Why? Because black is badass. Pair that black with a Bentley, and you are ready to thrown down, 0 to 60 (or 0 to 100 km/h) in a flash, drag race at the next stop light against whatever oversized muffler attached to a four cylinder happens to be handy, not because you are looking to race, who does that in a Bentley, but because you happen to step on the gas pedal when the light turns green. Such ennui. Pair that black with Breitling's Bentley Light Body Midnight Carbon Chronograph, and you might as well buy the tuxedo instead of rent it because now you are the badass.Breitling for Bentley (BfB), the marriage of the winged Bs, is a longstanding partnership designed to highlight prestige, performance and excellence. Ever since 2003 when two Bentley Speed 8s took first and second place in the 24 hours of LeMans, these two brands have celebrated the passion of motorsport. All of these watches are Chronometer CO
Throwback To The Thinnest Minute Repeater, the Bulgari Octo Finissimo Minute Repeater - Monochrome Watches
Until you have it on your wrist it's hard to appreciate just how thin the Bulgari Octo Finissimo Minute Repeater really is. Introduced back in 2016, it measures a mere 6.85mm thick cased up, with the complicated movement inside accounting for only 3.12mm of that. By way of comparison, a British one pound coin is 3.15mm thick! As interesting a model as it is however, it was just one of those watches that for one reason or another, we didn't get a chance to cover in detail here on Monochrome. As they say though, better late than never. So here – one year late – is our in-depth, hands-on look at the Bulgari Octo Finissimo Minute Repeater.World Record(s) HolderBy all accounts, the measurements quoted above are enough to decisively name the Bulgari Octo Finissimo Minute Repeater as the world's thinnest minute repeater now in production (back in the days,?Genta developed a 2.72mm repeater movement, which quickly proved unreliable). This is no doubt a very impressive feat in and o

Only Watch 2015 - a prototype of Richard Mille RM 27-02 Tourbillon Rafael Nadal actually worn and tested by Rafa - Monochrome-Watches
The concept of Only Watch is to auction unique watches in order to raise funds to help?Muscular Dystrophy research. As we’ve seen earlier this week, major brands came up with one-of-a-kind superb watches, just like FP Journe or Patek Philippe. There’s actually another way to participate in?the auction, by giving a prototype or the very first example?of a limited edition. For Only Watch 2015, Richard Mille chose to give a?RM 27-02 Tourbillon Rafael Nadal, identical to the production piece, except one little detail: it’s the example that Rafa worn and tested himself during the 2015 tennis season (including Roland Garros and Wimbledon). This watch is as unique as the other ones (that you can see here) not because of its one-of-a-kind?design but because of its very prestigious pedigree.
