Originally founded in 1845 by Ferdinand Adolph Lange in Glashutte, Germany, A. Lange & Sohne has become over the past years one of the most important watchmakers of the Saxon region. The story of Lange Uhren GmbH is, however, not as simple as it seems and despite subsequent generations of the family keeping the brand thriving, conflicts in Europe could have sounded the end of this great manufacture.
