First Look: The New All-Black Versions of the Hamilton Intra-Matic Auto Chrono (Incl. Video)
The Intra-Matic's origins are rooted in Project 99, developed with Buren, Heuer, Breitling and movement specialist Dubois-Depraz. The result of this joint effort was presented in 1969 with one of the first automatic chronograph movements called Chrono-Matic, or Calibre 11, depending on the brand using it. Alongside, Hamilton presented in the late 1960s the Chronograph A and B models, and by mixing both, you ended up in 2017 with the Intra-Matic 68 Chronograph. Since then, we’ve seen several editions under the name Intra-Matic Auto Chrono and today, Hamilton launches a new sub-collection of stealthy black-coated models with bright coloured accents. If you look closely at early Hamilton models under the original Chrono-Matic name, you can trace the lineage of that one all the way to this stealthy new trio. A bicompax dial layout, a date window in the bottom, and a set of pushers on the right-hand side of the case. Interestingly, the original movement put the crown on the left side,

Schnyder, a businessman and visionary, and Ludwig Oechslin, a brilliant horologist, turned this traditional manufacturer into one of the most innovative watch brands around. This partnership?would yield?several milestones in mechanical watchmaking history. Among these, the legendary Freak housing the innovative dual direct
Timor Heritage Field - Dirty Dozen WWW Re-Edition // Value Proposition
If you have any interest in vintage watches, and specifically military-issued pieces, the terms ‘Dirty Dozen‘ and ‘WWW’ should be familiar to you. Among the twelve brands that supplied the British MoD (Ministry of Defense) with watches during WWII was Timor Watch Company… which was re-incorporated in the United Kingdom in 2019, with something pretty cool in mind. And the result is out today, with the Timor Heritage Field, a faithful and accessible reissue of the ‘WWW’ field watch, now launching on Kickstarter.Reminder – the ‘Watch Wristlet Waterproof’ and the ‘Dirty Dozen’While we’ve already covered the ‘Dirty Dozen’ topic on multiple occasions, specifically since another brand (Vertex) decided to relaunch with modern watches inspired by the past, a short reminder will help you understand what Timor and the WWW are all about. The 12 watches that compose the so-called “Dirty Dozen” ̵
Jaeger-LeCoultre Atmos Transparente 2019 // Introducing, Review
The reassuring tick-tock of the table clock has by and large been replaced by more modern contraptions for telling the time. Sadly, table clocks, once a ubiquitous presence on the mantelpiece of many homes, have gone the way of drinks trolleys and soda siphons. However, there is one table clock that has survived the tide of changing fashions and continues to fascinate with its perpetual movement activated by invisible changes in temperature: the Atmos. With no requirement to wind the movement, no hidden batteries, Jaeger-LeCoultre's famous Atmos clock returns in a completely transparent case to reveal every detail of its movement that quite literally lives on air. Meet the new and modern?Jaeger-LeCoultre Atmos Transparente.Atmos TransparenteThe Atmos Transparente ?(from atmosphere, the agent responsible for powering the mechanical movement) is a feast for lovers of mechanical spectacles. Its minimalist design and touches of Art Deco styling are housed in a glass box set on a rectangula
Oris GMT Rega Limited Edition (Specs & Price)
Last year, Oris introduced their first watch made in partnership with Rega,?a private, non-profit air?rescue?service that provides emergency medical assistance in?Switzerland. Based on the powerful and unique?Big Crown ProPilot Altimeter, we even tested it right where it should be, in the Swiss mountains. Today, Oris presents the Oris GMT Rega Limited Edition, the second watch made in support of the partnership with Rega – and still a powerful, tool-ish purpose built-watch.The first Oris watch made in association with Rega was focusing on the altitude, with its mechanical Altimeter function (something that is really unique to Oris), as Rega often provides emergency medical assistance to the Swiss?Alps, explaining the need for the?air?rescue?service crew members (helicopter pilots and doctors) to have a watch displaying the altitude. However, this is not the only field of?action for Rega. They indeed repatriated 869 people from all over the world through its 24-hour repatriation s
