Roger Dubuis Pulsion Skeleton Flying Tourbillon in Titanium - REVIEW (Photos, Specs & Price) - Monochrome Watches
At the Monochrome desks we see many impressive timepieces, and we even have the good fortune to get to wear many of them for some weeks. Each and every of them excels in its own field, however if we don’t like it, we don’t write about it. That’s our our own rule. When we had the chance to review the Lange & Sohne Datograph and Double Split or the JLC Master Ultra-Thin there was no sign of hesitation or doubt and we wholeheartedly and immediately agreed to do a review. However when we got the chance to review the Roger Dubuis Pulsion Skeleton Flying Tourbillon, there was a brief hesitation. As said… it was brief, and very soon made place for tremendous delight.Roger Dubuis is not know for being discrete or modest in its looks. Except perhaps the La Monegasque collection?that was introduced in 2011, however all other collections are quite distinct. And so is the watch at hand today. At least that’s what I thought at first, however soon I found out that t
Buying Guide - Highlights From The Geneva Watch Days 2020
With the cancellation of Baselworld and Watches & Wonders, the Geneva Watch Days event was one of the very few multi-brand watch events of the year. Seventeen brands? showcased their novelties between August 26 and August 29 in the “capital of luxury watchmaking”. The event was decentralised as each brand was presenting novelties in their individual showrooms. We masked up and ventured to Geneva to get a long-awaited horological fix! Here are some of our highlight watches.Ferdinand Berthoud Chronometre FB 2REFerdinand Berthoud's first-round model will be one of the watches of the year. Although the brand's focus remains the same – precision chronometry – the second Berthoud collection comes with a new case and a new calibre. The Chronometre FB 2RE picks up the shape of Berthoud marine clocks and their modular construction. It is based on a cylindrical container fitted with short, tapering lugs secured to the case by stylised bolts. Time is displayed on a tra
IWC Pilot Watch Chronograph Edition ?Le Petit Prince? - Monochrome Watches
When IWC opened its new boutique in Amsterdam last month, we had the chance to get some hands-on time with the new IWC Pilot Watch Chronograph Edition ‘Le Petit Prince’. This latest edition of the Pilot Watch Chronograph features a striking blue dial and is the third edition to support the Antoine de Saint-Exupery Youth Foundation, in its commitment against illiteracy.Last year IWC introduced two other ‘Le Petit Prince’ editions: a?Big Pilot's Watch Perpetual Calendar Edition ‘Le Petit Prince’ and the?Pilot's Watch Mark XVII Edition ‘Le Petit Prince’. Both featured a similar blue dial, which seems to be?IWC’s trademark for the charity editions; just like the Portuguese Chronograph Classic Laureus Edition?that was introduced some week ago. The new Pilot Chronograph Edition ‘Le Petit Prince’ is a boutique edition, meaning it’s only available in the IWC boutiques.? Ad - Scroll to continue with article
Longines Heritage Classic Sector Dial Black - Hands-On Review, Price
Explaining that Longines is good at making vintage-inspired watches that are bringing back the flair of some of its greatest hits of the past is like saying that Porsche does good sportscars. It’s almost like repeating yourself. Looking at the brand’s portfolio, and putting apart the recent Spirit collection, watches such as the Legend Diver or the all-new Ultra-Chron High-Frequency?are enough to make a point. But there’s one watch in particular that appeals to me, a watch that isn’t the most striking and that doesn’t come with the most spectacular design or specifications. But one that truly caught my attention, the Heritage Classic Sector Dial Black…Longines’ Heritage collection is the brand’s playground for vintage re-editions. While recently the brand has shown great creativity in the Spirit collection, with this titanium chronograph or the acclaimed Zulu Time, this range is not per se about re-editing glorious watches from the past,
High quality in steel - Ladies only! - Monochrome Watches
The time that a small diameter watch with a row of diamonds was believed to be the perfect women's watch is long gone. A growing number of women in the market for a high end watch are seriously interested in the movement. Quartz is no longer the obvious choice, and a mechanical movement can proof to be a selling point. However, most brands that use high grade mechanical movements still have the tendency to put them in precious metal cases and adorn them with diamonds or other gemstones. A beautiful option for a romantic dinner or a night out in the town, but for the everyday life she might want to opt for something a little more robust. Where can a woman turn to when she wants a good looking, steel watch, without gemstones but with a high-end, preferably in-house, movement that might even feature a complication? Here are 4 watches that do just that!Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Chronograph Ladies –?For women with an active life style, or simply a taste for a more sporty watch, Omeg
