Audemars Piguet [Re]master01 Selfwinding Chronograph // Review
About a week ago, Audemars Piguet introduced a very surprising watch. Designed as the first watch in a new collection inspired by the brand’s rich past, the [Re]master01 watch is a remastering of a beautiful historic model. Based on a 1943 two-tone chronograph with Art Deco design, this rare and handsome watch had a hand-wound movement with “teardrop” lugs. Audemars Piguet’s idea was to offer a taste of the past in a contemporary package. Besides the obvious lack of proportions and feeling on the wrist, these images don’t always do justice to the watch. The way the ambient light plays with a watch is important, creating reflections, changing the colour of a dial…

Swatch Groups Powermatic Movement, a Powerful Entry-Level Engine - Monochrome Watches
Have you ever wondered how Swatch Group brands like Tissot, Certina, Hamilton and Mido can make reliable, robust and accurate mechanical watches of good quality at very reasonable prices? Take a look inside the cases and you'll see the answer ticking there: the movement that seriously raises the bar for the entire industry. Its name: Powermatic. Intoducing the Updated Sporty Jaquet Droz Grande Seconde SW (Specs & Price)
When you think Jaquet Droz, you usually have in mind the image of a sleek and elegant watch, characterized by the 8-shaped display of the dial. Most of their collections are on the dressy side, however, it is hard for a mainstream brand to ignore opportunities such as the sports-watch market. But… How to mix the refined and signature display of Jaquet Droz with a?sporty and bold attire? This is the hard task of the Grande Seconde SW collection, which has just been slightly redesigned, with new dials, two-tone versions and metal bracelet options. What we have in front of us is more of an evolution of the collection, to give it a bit of fresh air, rather than an entire facelift. The?Jaquet Droz Grande Seconde SW isn’t a new watch – as we reviewed it here – however for 2017, it will receive some slight visual updates. The?Grande Seconde SW is the bold and visually complex interpretation of the Jaquet Droz 8-figure concept. This collection strongly contrasts with the
