Introducing The Cartier Tank Cintree Re-Edition in Platinum
The Cartier Tank is undoubtedly among the most significant watches ever created by the French house. But there’s not just one Tank: there are multiple Tanks. When we talk about the inaugural watch of 1917, we refer to it as the Tank Normale (elegantly re-edited this year). But, year after year, the model expanded to become an entire collection of rectangular-shaped watches, but all different. One of the most recognizable and elegant is the curvy Tank Cintree, born in 1921. Following a 100th-anniversary Reedition in yellow gold two years ago, this shaped ultra-thin watch returns in platinum. ?The first Cartier Tank watch, now known as the Tank Normale, was born in 1917 and inaugurated an atypical design said to have been inspired by the armoured Renault tanks of WWI. It was basically a square middle case framed by two brancards to mimic the shape of a tank seen from above. The first-known evolution of the Tank came in 1921, under the name Tank Cintree. Notably, it introduced the e
First Look: The new Longines HydroConquest GMT 43mm collection
Next to the vintage-inspired Legend Diver collection, the Longines HydroConquest is a more utilitarian, robust, classic diver, with water-resistance up to 300 metres, a unidirectional, external rotating bezel, a screw-in crown and a screw-down caseback. Following the introduction of the practical, versatile and mostly visually appealing HydroConquest GMT last year in a 41mm case, Longines now launches a larger 43mm version available either with a green, black or blue dial, and with several strap/bracelet options.Essentially, this new version of the Longines HydroConquest GMT shares all the characteristics of the 41mm version we saw about a year ago. The main change is related to its diameter, which now sits at 43mm. On one hand, this new, additional, larger watch feels a bit unexpected at a time when smaller watches are coming back in vogue. On the other hand, it is just an additional choice that will find its fans – Longines explains to us that there was demand from certain mark
2022 IWC Portugieser Blue Panda IW500715 and IW371620
The Portugieser family by IWC needs little to no introduction anymore, being one of the most acclaimed collections of the Schaffhausen-based brand. A nautical-inspired watch born in the 1930s following the request of two Portuguese merchants and sailing enthusiasts, it has become a classic that hardly changed over the years. Today, IWC introduces new versions of the Portugieser Automatic and the Portugieser Chronograph, two of the most popular models in the collection, which not only look rather appealing but also perfectly match the nautical background of this family of watches, with so-called “panda blue” dials. The combination of silvery-white dial and blue accents is amongst the most classic style you can find on an IWC Portugieser – if not the most emblematic combination. Adding a stronger nautical touch to these already nautical-related watches, this colour schema has a strong appeal and has been found on most of the members of the Portugieser family – the
The new Longines Spirit 37mm Collection (Specs & Price)
The vintage-inspired Longines Spirit pilot's watches launched in 2020 with 40mm and 42mm case sizes, and featured COSC automatic movements and a choice of time/date or chronograph models. The collection celebrated the pilots, military personnel and sportsman that relied on Longines throughout its history. The latest release introduces a more universal size for both men and women, coming in at 37mm with three dial colours – including a new and rather attractive Champagne option. The dials are time and date only (no chronograph), but maintain the popular style of their predecessors with a unisex appeal. Let’s take a look at the Longines Spirit 37mm.Longines Spirit CollectionLongines has a popular Heritage collection that recalls key models from its historic portfolio. The Legend Diver and Avigation BigEye are examples of these re-editions. The Longines Spirit collection is also vintage-inspired, but introduces new designs that don't directly borrow from the past.
