A. Lange & Sohne Little Lange 1 Moon Phase "25th Anniversary" (Specs & Price)
It's becoming an established routine now: every month, for the last eight months since January 2019, we receive news of the latest birthday present to celebrate 25 uninterrupted years of the Lange 1. The Little Lange 1 Moon Phase is the ninth anniversary model out of a grand total of ten special models dedicated to the Silver Jubilee of the Lange 1 (you will find a list with links of all the watches at the end of this article). The Little Lange 1 Moon Phase, a limited edition of 25 watches, is the exact same watch as its predecessor but dressed up for the grand occasion in a white gold case with blue trimmings with the incorporation of a hand-engraved white gold lunar disc.PROVENANCEThe Little Lange 1 Moon Phase made its debut in 2017 and was clearly positioned as a women's watch. Housed in a little' 36.8mm pink gold case, the highlight was the stunning silvery-white guilloche dial and luxurious pink gold details on the dial. It was as beautiful as it was intelligent winning over the h
A. Lange & Sohne 1815 Annual Calendar - SIHH 2017 (Specs & Price)
After the massively impressive (yet far from accessible) A. Lange & Sohne Tourbograph Perpetual introduced yesterday, without a doubt?the main highlight of the Saxon manufacture’s SIHH 2017 collection, we return today to?the real world and to more usable and pragmatic watches. Well, sort of, as we’re still talking Lange here. Another of its?novelties this year is a highly interesting calendar watch?featuring what we believe is a highly practical indication; the annual calendar – a complication that sits right in the middle between a normal calendar and a perpetual calendar. Here is the discreet and elegant A. Lange & Sohne 1815 Annual Calendar. Here at Monochrome we think the annual calendar is probably the best combination possible for a calendar watch. It features?some of the elements?of a QP, whilst still remaining accessible and provides?highly interesting technical content, far above what you’ll experience with a traditional calendar watch. Longines Master Collection 190th Anniversary - Hands-On, Price
Longines can proudly flaunt its status as one of the oldest Swiss watch brands. Founded in 1832 in Saint-Imier, Longines celebrates the grand 190th anniversary of the brand with three commemorative pieces from its Master collection. Relying on an unusual mix of contemporary matte textured dials and hyper-classical engraved Breguet numerals, the Master Collection trilogy honours the past and present of the brand with great style. Here is the Longines Master Collection 190th Anniversary.Brief History of LonginesLongines has been airborne – uninterruptedly – since 1832. Surviving this long in any milieu depends a lot on innovation and efficiency and Longines combined both from the start. One of the most innovative ideas was to unite all production processes under one roof, rowing against the tide of the etablissage system where individual components were produced by different families and then assembled and sold by a comptoir, or trading office. By 1867, Longines had become a
Oris partners with Wing of Hope and presents a pair of limited Big Crowns
Oris announces its collaboration with Wings of Hope, a US-based humanitarian organisation that uses aviation to bring medical support to remote communities. As part of the brand's “Change for the Better” programme, Oris hopes to raise awareness about the work of Wings of Hope by launching two special models based on the Big Crown pilot's watch: a 40mm steel model limited to 1,000 pieces and a 38mm yellow gold model limited to 100 pieces. Following the flight path established last year with the Big Crown models fitted with the brand’s new proprietary automatic movement, these Big Crown x Wings of Hope abandon the signature coin-edged bezel and downplay some of the vintage elements. What's more, to differentiate themselves as special models deliberately made to shine a light on Wings of Hope, the signature pointer date function has also been eliminated.Wings of HopeFounded in 1963, Wings of Hope delivers medical support to remote and vulnerable communities in more than
Oris Big Crown X Cervo Volante 38mm Pointer Date - Review, Price
We've heard about Oris' incentives to support the removal of plastics from the ocean and make straps and dials from recycled PET, about initiatives to restore the coral reefs and conservation efforts to ensure the blue whale and dolphin are protected from underwater noise pollution and fishing nets, but this is probably the first time we've come across a watch made in collaboration with a sustainable deer leather manufacturer. As part of the brand's Change for the Better campaign, the partnership with Cervo Volante has led to a new line of deer hide watch straps. The model chosen to show off the new straps is the classic Big Crown Pointer Date with gradient dials inspired by Alpine colours. The three models are not limited editions, and Oris is committed to working with Cervo Volante long term. Another positive feature of the latest Big Crown models is the new 38mm case size. Although there are two 38mm Big Crown Pointer Dates fitted with the latest in-house engineered automatic calib
