Introducing the De Bethune DB29 Maxichrono with De Bethunes Absolute Clutch System (Live Photos and Price) - Monochrome Watches
In the world of watches there are many chronographs. Mostly with mechanical chronograph movements that were developed in the 1960’s or 1970’s. Just recently – now ETA stopped supplying movements to non Swatch Group brands – we see some newly developed chronograph calibers. But nothing comes close to the new chronograph movement that De Bethune has developed. Let’s take a closer look at the De Bethune DB29 Maxichrono with De Bethune's Absolute Clutch System.?It’s of course not fair to compare an entry-level mechanical movement, like for instance the Longines caliber L788 with column-wheel and mono-pusher, with a retail price of well below € 4,000 Euro (making an excellent price/value proposition), with the new De Bethune DB29 Maxichrono that retails for CHF 166,000. The only comparison – in quality, finish and beauty – that we can think of, comes from Saxony, Germany, although that one is more classic in many ways and features a double rat

Slim, sophisticated and with just the right hint of complexity, the new Chopard L.U.C Flying T Twin is a collector's dream. Cased up in 100% ethically sourced Fairmined gold, it cuts a striking figure on the wrist. We managed to get our hands on one and were impressed by its perfect proportions and high-level finishing, the latter of which earned this model the Geneva Seal. Read on for a closer look at this handsome timepiece. When it comes to finding a really nice dress watch, often the challenge is the dimensions. There is no shortage of attractive dials but sometimes case size and finishing leave a little (or a lot) to be desired. Thankfully that is most certainly not the case with the new Chopard L.U.C Flying T Twin. In fact, I would almost go as far to say that its proportions are close to perfect. Baselworld 2019 - Oris Great Barrier Reef III Limited Edition (Specs & Price)
Protecting the oceans, as well as water (and everything living in it) in general, has become a recurring goal for Oris, with frequent launches of limited editions of its dive watches linked to a good cause – think Aquis Date Relief, ‘Source of Life’ Limited Edition or Clipperton Limited Edition. Following its tradition of adding new colours and new complications to its signature Aquis dive watch,? and as part of the Baselworld 2019 collection, the brand introduces the Oris Great Barrier Reef III Limited Edition.?Restoring the reefAs suggested by its name, the Oris Great Barrier Reef III Limited Edition is the third watch (see the second model here) Oris has linked to the world's largest and most diverse reef system (so big – 2,600km long – it can be seen from space) but since 2015 and the second model in the series, the situation has far from improved. Introducing: The Powerful Nivada Depthmaster Pac-Man now in Bronze
Nivada Grenchen was something of a secret among seasoned collectors of instrument dive watches from the 1950s and 1960s, but with ever-increasing exposure on specialised websites, you could say that the cat is out of the bag. Founded in 1926, Nivada Grenchen produced its first waterproof automatic watch in 1950 – the Antarctic – that was put to the test by members of the U.S. Navy during the Deep Freeze 1 expedition to the South Pole in 1955-1956. Taking waterproofness to the next level, Nivada introduced the record-breaking 1,000m water-resistant Depthmaster model in 1965, an impressively robust tool watch that blew contemporary rivals out of the water. Unable to fathom the quartz deluge, Nivada sunk into oblivion in the late 1970s but was refloated and launched re-editions of its famous divers, the Chronomaster Aviator Sea Diver and Depthmaster, in 2020. The latest addition is a very handsome bronze version of the Depthmaster with a black ceramic bezel insert and Pac-Man
