Seiko, the official timekeeper of the World Athletics Championships since 1985, is responsible for determining the winners of different athletic disciplines where fractions of a second can make or break a record. Celebrating its seventeenth consecutive role as the official timekeeper of this prestigious athletics event, Seiko presents a Prospex Speedtimer Limited Edition Chronograph SRQ041.Seiko and Sports TimingSeiko's high-precision timing equipment has been used in sporting events for well over fifty years. Omega Sochi Petrograd Tonneau Watch for the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics - Monochrome Watches
Earlier this year Omega introduced the Seamaster Planet Ocean Sochi 2014 Limited Edition, two special editions to honor the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games. Today Omega introduces another limited edition for the Sochi games. We don’t know if that means that the Seamaster Planet Ocean models have sold out, but we do like this vintage style watch a lot.Omega Museum collection 2004The new Sochi Petrograd Tonneau watch has a striking ressemblance with a model that Omega introduced nine years ago (2004), as a limited edition of 1,915 pieces in the Museum Collection (see photo insert right). It is inspired on a watch that was first introduced in 1915 to the Russian & Eastern Europe market in 1915. Introducing The (Very) Green Oris Propilot X Kermit Edition (Live Pics)
The edgy ProPilot X line was upgraded last year with the Calibre 400 to power the popular series, distinguished by a straightforward, contemporary and technical design. Calibre 400, the in-house automatic movement with 120 hours of power reserve and chronometric accuracy, was presented in 2020 and demonstrated how seriously Oris was implementing its Movement Creation Programme. It was expected the Calibre 400 would equip the brand’s mid-range models; still, the 2022 editions of ProPilot X Calibre 400 came as a pleasant surprise. The new Oris ProPilot X Kermit Edition watch will surprise you once again. The serious part comes with a 39mm titanium sharp-looking case with a knur
Two virtual videogame and movie cars taken off-screen and into reality
Today The Petrolhead Corner is turning to the virtual automotive world as the origin for real-life, working and driving cars. If you’re anything like me, you would have spent a good amount of time on video game consoles playing driving and racing games such as Driver, Gran Turismo, Need for Speed, Forza or any of the annual F1 racing games. Or, if gaming isn’t your thing, maybe you’ve seen memorable movies such as Back to the Future, Gone in Sixty Seconds, Le Mans, Bullit, any of the James Bond movies, the Fast and Furious franchise or the Cars trilogy. In both the world of gaming, and the animated movie industry, there have been countless fantasy cars that might be modelled after a genuine car but never existed in reality. Or have they? Let’s check out two cool stories where either a video game or animated movie car was made into a real car you could (theoretically) drive on public roads! From videogame to reality: Mclaren solus gtThe Gran Turismo franchise is o
