A classic, silver bracelet accompanied with a deep blue dial and crescent-shaped second hand; Seiko SARW047 will land you amongst the stars in the night sky. The Roman numeral markers are perfect for those who are bored with numbers or other marker shapes. The dual-curved sapphire crystal top makes the dial shiny and protects it from scratches and damage. Industry News: Reshuffle at LVMH Watches, New CEO for Hublot and TAG Heuer
It wasn’t so long ago when LVMH, the French luxury powerhouse, announced shifts in top management positions. In January 2024, the group announced the creation of a new entity, LVMH Watches, as well as its CEO, Frederic Arnault, the son of the Group's owner Bernard Arnault and ex-CEO of TAG Heuer. As a consequence, Julien Tornare, ex-CEO of Zenith, became CEO of TAG Heuer, to be replaced by Benoit de Clerck. The status quo didn’t last long as yesterday LVMH announced new appointments within the division, following the decision of Ricardo Guadalupe, current CEO of Hublot, to step back from operational management. As such, Julien Tornare takes the lead of Hublot in the middle of a softening market for the watch industry.?Ricardo Guadalupe, the current CEO of Hublot, will become?Honorary President of HublotWith sales of watches currently declining, shifts in top managing positions are becoming the norm – see Louis Ferla appointed CEO of Cartier, replacing Cyrille Vigneron
Hands-On - The 2022 Editions of the Arnold & Son Ultrathin Tourbillon
Indie watchmaker Arnold & Son introduced its Ultrathin Tourbillon Escapement (UTTE) in 2013. With a height of just 2.97mm, the UTTE was one of the thinnest tourbillon movements on the market until Bvlgari smashed all records with its 1.95mm thin Octo Finissimo Tourbillon in 2014. Revisited with different dial textures and a remarkable skeletonised version in 2016, the Ultrathin Tourbillon is back in 2022 with on-trend grained dials. Offered in platinum with a green dial and red gold with a blue dial, the latest models benefit from an upgraded movement with an even longer power reserve and a redesigned case with a slimmer profile. The offset layout of the dial, with the hours and minutes counter at noon mirrored by the large tourbillon aperture at 6 o'clock, is familiar and designed to echo the way information was relayed on John Arnold's historical marine chronometers. The name KonTiki should sound?familiar?to vintage collectors and dive watches aficionados. Since 1958, Eterna had a KonTiki watch in its collections, a watch made to celebrate?a daring expedition across the Pacific. Since 1962, there’s also the Super KonTiki, a professional edition with rotating bezel made to dive in deep salty waters. For Baselworld 2015, Eterna comes back with a vintage-inspired reissue of the Super KonTiki, that includes a regular collection plus a very cool limited edition. The Eterna Super KonTiki was kind of a superior watch back in 1962. It was the brand’s first dive watch with a rotating bezel and with a 200m water resistance. It was coming with all the classical attributes of a dive watch: a rotating bezel with a large and legible 60-minute scale, a black dial with massive?luminous indexes and a robust? stainless steel case.?Now, for Baselworld?2015, Eterna pays tribute to this iconic dive watch with the launch of new Super KonTiki models?inspired b
Richard Mille RM 025 Tourbillon Chronograph Divers Watch - Too good for diving? - Monochrome Watches
Our new contributor Angus Davies got hands-on experience with the Richard Mille Tourbillon Chronograph Diver's Watch RM 025 and wonders if it’s too good for diving…I stood in the Richard Mille Boutique in the Hotel Kempinski adjacent Lake Geneva. Panerai watches and their military roots need no introduction anymore. The brand, founded in Florence, Italy, supplied military forces only for more than half a century. This background is part of the brand’s DNA and most of the design elements have been created with military requirements in mind. Today, the brand pays tribute to its history as the sole supplier of wristwatches to the Royal Italian Navy, with a collection of four classic Radiomir watches dressed in matte military green. Still, the brand has a long and rich history, however, only for military purposes, in particular with the Royal Italian Navy. The main step in Panerai's history will occur in 1916 after Guido Panerai (grandson of the founder) took over the family business and created Radiomir, a self-luminous material that allowed to see the time in the da
