Luxury Watches |
Another fine watch from the well-known Seiko. The Seiko Presage Star Bar Limited Model has a beautiful white dial that has a fine background pattern. The hour markers are made with a stem of cocktail glass that intensifies their appearance. Further, the watch features a powerful caliber 4R57 that can be viewed from a see-through case back. A calendar function is there at the 6'o clock position of the dial to make the watch multi-tasking.

Drive de Cartier Extra Flat SIHH 2017 (Specs & Price)
Last year at SIHH 2016, Cartier unveiled a?new men’s?watch, the Drive, which received a lot of?praise?and attention here on Monochrome-Watches (see our?introductory article and review) thanks to?its great elegance and the way it mastered shapes. For us this is what Cartier is all about, a master of shapes and elegance, a brand that can create an unconventional watch that still looks brilliantly classy and understated. Still, for?us the Drive de Cartier always had?one issue; it’s size. It was just?a bit too thick and a bit too large. It seems our prayers have been answered though as this year at?SIHH 2017 the Drive de Cartier has been revamped and now comes in its best option so far, the Extra Flat Calibre 430MC.You see, a watch is not just a pencil line?on a sheet of paper. A watch is a 3 dimensional object that needs to be seen on the wrist, and more than its design, it’s the proportions of a watch that create a subtle, elegant and racy piece of watchmaking. The Driv
First Look: The new Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Geographic
Jaeger-LeCoultre's Reverso started life in 1931 as a pragmatic solution for British polo players in India who were constantly smashing the glass on their watches. Thanks to its patented swivelling case, players could protect the dial and switch it back in time for a Pimms Cup. A pivotal moment in the life of the Reverso, the famous reversible watch with stylish Art Deco aesthetics, occurred in the 1990s when it was upgraded with complications. Among these was the practical Reverso Geographique traveller's watch of 1998, which displayed a second time zone on the reverse dial. The new Reverso Tribute Geographic might share the name of the 1998 watch, but that's about as far as the similarities go. Technically speaking, the new Reverso Tribute Geographic is a bona fide worldtimer – with a twist. Powered by a new, in-house movement with a big date complication, it looks like Jaeger-Le Coultre might be back in business. The new Reverso Geographic is available in steel or 18k pink gold
Oris Artelier Complication Redesigned 2017 (Specs & Price)
While Oris?might be famous for its dive watches, such as the Aquis or the hype Divers Sixty Five, there’s another collection in the catalogue that is far from lacking interest; the?Artelier range. Offering?the same overall quality at?an affordable price as the rest of the watches produced by the brand, the Artelier collection is a?more elegant and complex (relatively-speaking) offering. For 2017, one of Oris’ defining movements is encased in a redesigned watch, the new?Oris Artelier Complication. With the original version of this watch, Oris was ahead of the curve, for two reasons. First of all, it?launched “The Complication” back in 1991,?at a time when the Swiss watch industry was slowly recovering from the troubles of the Quartz Crisis, and at a time when complicated watches, with a classic look were probably not really trendy. Secondly, with this watch, Oris helped pioneer?the concept of affordable luxury. The watch offered a lot, both technically and visuall
The Auction Hammer - Panerai Mare Nostrum - Monochrome Watches
Vintage Panerai's are already exciting, big, bold, unique and rare. Amongst them the Mare Nostrum is perhaps the most mystical, since it was Panerai's only vintage chronograph. Although the re-make is not as big as the original one, the one offered for auction by Christie's can for sure be called exciting, bold, unique and rare.In 1943 Panerai developed the Mare Nostrum for deck officers and it was their first chronograph. Allegedly only a couple prototypes had been made before the Allied invasion (in Italy) prevented full scale production. Like all the other Panerais, the Mare Nostrum has become a timeless classic. So it was not strange that Panerai made a re-issue of this iconic watch. Ad - Scroll to continue with article In 1993 the Mare Nostrum was introduced for public sale. Panerai did make some alterations to the design. A 42mm case made the watch much mo
Ochs und Junior - Luna Mese - Monochrome Watches
Ludwig Oechslin has achieved an astronomical moon indication based on just four individual components. Intelligent minimalism and aesthetic clarity.Ludwig Oechslin already made a huge impression with the Freak and the Trillogy of Time he created for Ulysse Nardin.Later he created the MIH Watch with an annual calendar comprising of only 9 components and later the Ochs und Junior Anno Cinquanta where the annual calendar needs only 5 components! Now Ludwig Oechslin’s quest was to find?the best way of portraying just the moon, clearly and distinctly. An astronomical moon indication, but based on a brilliantly simple mechanism… Ad - Scroll to continue with article Ludwig Oechslin’s latest concept watch, created for his Ochs und Junior brand, is the Luna Mese idea. The Ochs und Junior Luna Mese is an astronomic moon phase watch capable of indicating
