Benjamin Chee x Andersen Geneve Celestial Voyager "Aurora" and "Arctic Sunrise"
A seasoned collector turned entrepreneur, Benjamin Chee is passionate about exquisite bespoke handcrafted objects. To sate his thirst for refined watches, the Singaporean created his flagship Benjamin Chee Haute Horlogerie (BCHH) in 2019, teaming up with some of the top names in watchmaking like Svend Andersen of Andersen Geneve. One of the most remarkable models to issue from BCHH in Switzerland is the Celestial Voyager, a refined high-end world timer. Two new Celestial Voyagers in pink gold with cloisonne enamel dials – “Aurora” and “Arctic Sunrise” – are launched following in the footsteps of the much-praised “Sunset over Cappadocia” of 2022.Chee & AndersenBenjamin Chee, who describes himself as the founder and visionary-in-chief of BCHH, relies on the best talent and manufacturers in Switzerland to bring to life his dream watches (he is also the name behind the Chinese brand Celadon and Millechron). Introducing: The Swatch x Blancpain Scuba Fifty Fathoms Pink Ocean
Following a rather unmanageable success with the Moonswatch collaboration with Omega, Swatch did it again in 2023 with yet another brand from the group – this time Blancpain – and with another emblematic watch – the Fifty Fathoms. The result, an accessible Bioceramic watch inspired by Blancpain’s famous dive watch, came with an automatic movement this time – which certainly made it more appropriate for us at MONOCHROME. Following the first 5 editions and an appealing all-black model, it’s now the total opposite that Swatch drops; a pink-to-the-max version, the new Swatch x Blancpain Scuba Fifty Fathoms Pink Ocean.Following the inaugural collection of 2023, the Swatch x Blancpain Bioceramic Scuba Fifty Fathoms was presented in two other editions. There was first the all-black Ocean Of Storms in January 2024. Recently, the brand also released a turquoise edition named Blue Lagoon – which surprisingly didn’t gather much attention. But wait u
Buying Guide - Some Of The Coolest Orange Dive Watches in 2022
If orange dive watches have been rather popular for their funky 1970s vibe, the colour was originally selected for visibility reasons. Doxa is often said to have been among the first to use orange, which has become a signature colour for the brand. Back in the late 1960s, Doxa tested different dial colours in Lake Neuchatel and thought it was the best tone for underwater readability. If this is in fact quite wrong (orange is one of the first colours to disappear underwater, just after red, at about 20m deep), the trend has picked up, to the point of becoming a signature dive watch feature. Here are 5 cool options to get for this summer, to look stylish on land and underwater.Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Diver OrangeA dive watch in a square case feels unusual at first, specifically with the need for a rotating bezel. Still, for over ten years now, Bell & Ross has been renowned for its bold square case design. The Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Diver isn't just a design statement, it is a legi
Introducing Vacheron Constantin Patrimony Retrograde Day-Date Salmon/Platinum
Any watch in the Patrimony collection epitomises a dress timepiece, but the retrograde day-date models are an exceptional treat. Surprisingly, until now, there were only three references in the current collection, with a choice of white or pink gold cases with white or blue dials. This year, Vacheron Constantin expands the offer, adding the Patrimony Retrograde Day-Date in a platinum case with a salmon-coloured dial to the collection. The combination of platinum and salmon is new to the contemporary Patrimony line but not entirely new to the brand since last year it can be found in various Vacheron collections in limited annual production, take the Traditionelle Perpetual Calendar Chronograph, for example. The new Retrograde Day-Date reference features a 42.5mm round slim case, 9.7mm thick, with a sunburst-finished dial that radiates nicely and plays well in the light to enhance the watch’s presentation. The minute track comprises delicate diamond-polished white gold spheres; the
Several New Vacheron Constantin Harmony Models, Including Complete Calendar Moonphase and New Iterations - Monochrome Watches
When in 2015 Vacheron Constant presented the Harmony, it was already an entire collection, comprising a?simple Dual Time, a small size chronograph (women-oriented), a Monopusher Chronograph (the superb 3300), a Tourbillon Chronograph and a stunning ref. 3500 ultra-thin, automatic, split-seconds chronograph. Even if there was?no new editions at the 2016 Edition of the SIHH, which was entirely focussed on the Overseas, it’s time now for the Harmony Collection to see evolutions. As a sort of early Pre-SIHH, here are several new Vacheron Constantin Harmony models, including a brand new and elegant Complete Calendar Moonphase and new iterations of existing versions. The?Vacheron Constantin Harmony Complete Calendar MoonphaseThis is the big news here, the only properly new watch of the 10 novelties (including 4 ladies’ watches that we won’t cover here) that VC introduces today. First of all, this watch is all about a display. It looks back at some 1940s to 1960s watches, whi
