Introducing: A. Lange & Sohne Datograph Perpetual Tourbillon Honeygold Lumen
The Datograph Perpetual Tourbillon Honeygold “Lumen” is the indisputable highlight of A. Lange & Sohne's novelties for Watches and Wonders 2024. Pulling out its big guns at Watches & Wonders, Lange has treated its uber-complex flyback chronograph, perpetual calendar, and tourbillon cocktail to an exclusive Honeygold case and, for the cherry on top, a luminous Lumen glow. Sharing identical specifications to its siblings in white gold and platinum, this masterpiece of horology and Saxon design that made its debut in 2016 has no qualms about revealing its innermost secrets in the dark.Although the Datograph is officially celebrating its 25th anniversary, Lange has chosen to pay homage to its complicated sibling, the Datograph Perpetual Tourbillon, by treating it to two of the brand’s trademarked products: Honeygold and Lumen.Honeygold is a top-secret alloy developed for Lange in 2010 with a unique colour comparable to that of honey. Laurent Ferrier Tourbillon Grand Sport, Steel Luxury Sports Watch (Hands-On, Specs & Price)
There’s no denying that the “luxury sports watch” segment is, by quite a margin, currently producing some of the hottest watches on the market. The demand for such pieces simply surpasses production. For this reason, we see more and more brands entering this market (and there will be more), some foreseeable, some less – Maurice Lacroix on the accessible side, Urban Jurgensen on the higher-end. And today it’s time for one of the masters of elegance to come with his own vision of a luxury sports watch. Meet the Laurent Ferrier Tourbillon Grand Sport.Luxury Sports Watch…?We often hear the name “luxury sports watch.” But what exactly does that mean? A luxury sports watch is a concept that dates back to 1972 when Audemars Piguet and designer Gerald Genta drastically changed the industry and the notion of high-end watchmaking with a new, unprecedented and disruptive piece named the Royal Oak. The idea was to offer the same level of watchmaking

Weekly Watch Photo - TAG Heuer Autavia - Monochrome Watches
Some years ago – in a period when TAG Heuer had advertisements with celebrities who know how to strap a watch on their wrist instead of holding them in their hands – they had a “Classics” collection comprising a variety of re-issues of important watches from the 1960’s and 1970’s. Today our Weekly Watch Photo is dedicated to one of these watches, which is also one of my all time favorites… the TAG Heuer Autavia. The Classics collection featured the first re-issues of the Monaco, but also featured the Monza (and the gorgeous Monza Calibre 36 with an El Primero movement), several Carrera models and the Autavia was the last model to become part of this collection. The first years these models came out with just “Heuer” on the dial, later “TAG” and the new logo were added. My first expensive watch was a vintage (and by that I mean it’s from the 1970’s and not a re-issue that is a few years old) Autavia, a rare one
