Bvlgari Octo Finissimo Chronograph GMT for Revolution & The Rake - Monochrome Watches
2019 marked the year that the world's thinnest chronograph title passed from the hands of one horological master to another. Italian watchmaker Bvlgari had many firsts under its belt up until last year, yet the slimmest chronograph was not one of them. Piaget took that title in 2015 and held onto it right up until the release of the Bvlgari Octo Finissimo Chronograph in 2019 with its 6.90mm case. Now, the new Bvlgari Octo Finissimo Chronograph GMT for Revolution & The Rake follows in the footsteps of last year's Octo Finissimo Chronograph GMT, but with a couple of updates in the form of its luminous dial and an additional tachymeter scale. The timepiece is created exclusively for online luxury watch magazine Revolution and luxury e-commerce menswear company The Rake.Bvlgari first considered itself a serious contender in thin watch manufacture back in 2014. The Roman watchmaker began competing for ultra-thin complications with the 5mm thin Octo Finissimo Tourbillon, followed by the
Baselworld 2019 - Patek Philippe Chronograph 5172G (Specs & Price)
The classic Patek Philippe hand-wound chronograph immediately comes to mind to any collector thinking about high-end chronographs. The 5070 (based on a Lemania ebauche for Patek Philippe) was presented in 1998. It was replaced by the reference 5170 and its in-house, CH 29-535 hand-wound movement (that was launched the year before in a ladies’ watch). At Baselworld 2019, Patek has just unveiled a new classic chronograph. A white gold case featuring a box sapphire crystal, round guilloche pushers and three-tier lugs… This is the Patek Philippe Chronograph 5172G and it is, unsurprisingly, superbly executed. The reference 5172G is still powered by the caliber CH 29-535, meaning the traditional hand-wound integrated chronograph with column wheel and horizontal clutch. For easier reading of elapsed times, it features instantaneous jumping minutes. Running at 28,800 vibrations per hour, it boasts 65 hours of power reserve when the chronograph is disengaged. The architecture of the

IWC Schaffhausen's outstanding craft of creating functional, mechanical pilot's watches has translated into something far more than just a simple and legible timing device designed for pilots. @winewhiskywatches and his IWC Safari Big Pilot (AKA the Tribute to 5002) - Monochrome Watches
When Chris Granger-Herr, the CEO of IWC, posted a photo of himself wearing the prototype for this updated version of the original 5002-generation Big Pilot in matte titanium while on his African Safari, collectors took notice. Shortly after, IWC announced a limited edition of 100 watches, which sold out almost instantly via Instagram (despite a six-month wait for them to be built). The watch was immediately nicknamed the Safari Big Pilot, while IWC officially named it the Tribute to 5002. Today we’re talking to @winewhiskywatches about his IWC Big Pilot Tribute to 5002 ref. IW501007 AKA the “Safari” Big Pilot.?When Chris Grainger-Herr posted that picture on Instagram, I was travelling from the Netherlands to Switzerland to film one the MONOCHROME videos. So by the time I found out about this particular “Safari” Big Pilot, it was long sold out and that was that. So when I saw that @winewhiskywatches (who recently told us about his Armin Strom Resonance) own
