Review of the Fortis Cockpit One - Value Proposition
When you're on the hunt for your perfect watch, or even just a compulsory purchase, there is a lot out there to lust after. For example, when it comes to dive watches we've seen that there are a lot more than just Submariners, Seamasters or Panerais to choose from, which is great especially if you are shopping with somewhat of a limited budget. Case in point, this newly introduced Fortis Cockpit One, an automatic Swiss watch with some very nice features, in the 1000-1500 Euro/USD/CHF price bracket. Today we're taking a long, hard look at what you get for that money in one of our familiar extensive reviews!Fortis is a brand that probably isn't on everyone's radar but I don't know if that's necessarily fair. They definitely deserve some attention for some of their earlier collections as well as what's available in today's market. The most well-known pieces from the brand are perhaps the B42 or Cosmonaut's collections, which are mostly vintage inspired, automatic chronographs and space-bo
First Look: The Chopard Alpine Eagle 41 SL Cadence 8HF in Ceramicised Titanium
The latest Alpine Eagle Cadence 8HF by Chopard comes in a ceramicised titanium case and bezel, staying true to the collection’s signature aesthetic while enhancing durability and lightness. Its core specifications remain unchanged: a 41mm diameter with a 9.75mm thickness, a screw-down crown adorned with a compass rose, and crown guards for protection. A sapphire crystal caseback, marked with the Cadence 8HF designation, offers a glimpse of the high-frequency movement within, while 100m water resistance ensures everyday versatility. Both the bezel with eight screws and the midcase feature a bead-blasted finish, reinforcing the watch’s modern, technical appeal. The 7mm crown is also crafted from ceramicised titanium. The dial, finished in “Pitch Black”, is achieved through stamping and PVD treatment, retaining the Alpine Eagle’s signature sunburst pattern, inspired by an eagle’s iris. However, in this SL - Super Light edition of the Alpine Eagle 41 Cade
IWC Portugieser Chronograph Rattrapante Limited Edition "Boutique Milano" - The Comeback of the Split-Seconds Portugieser - Monochrome Watches
The IWC Portugieser is probably, as you might all be aware of, the most iconic piece of the Schaffhausen-based manufacture. One edition however has a special status in our heart, mainly because of its complicated split-seconds movement (we love split-seconds here…) and because of the man behind the development of the movement and the module,?Richard Habring. This watch was unfortunately out of the production for 10 years, and we know that some collectors were dreaming of a re-birth – and it’s about to arrive, with the new?IWC Portugieser Chronograph Rattrapante Limited Edition “Boutique Milano”, the comeback of the Split-Seconds Portugieser. This new?IWC Portugieser Chronograph Rattrapante Limited Edition “Boutique Milano” is the faithful descendant of an icon in the IWC collection, the Portuguese Chronograph Rattrapante (at that time the?Portugieser was still the?Portuguese…). This watch, properly understated visually?– as very clos
IWC Spitfire Chronograph with In-House Caliber 89365 - Monochrome Watches
Monochrome is into pilot’s watches and this week we share enthusiastic stories of our contributors, about their favorite aviation timepieces. Like the Omega Flightmaster that we told you everything about last Tuesday and the very cool Bremont Squadron Watch USNTPS?that we told you about yesterday. Today our guest contributor Angus Davies share his thoughts on the brand new IWC Spitfire Chronograph with the in-house?manufactured calibre?89365.?I remember as a young boy growing up in the 1970's obsessively watching films depicting war time conflict. Air supremacy was a topic which captured my interest with Spitfires and Focke Wulfs embroiled in aeronautical battle. The Focke Wulf Fw190 was arguably better armed than the Spitfire, but lacked its agility and ultimate prowess in the air. My innocent eyes would be captivated by jousting-like duels, guns angrily snarling, as the green and grey planes swooped through the nimbus clouds. Ad - Scroll to continue with article
