Auction - The Pink Dial Project for Breast Cancer Awareness
Watches and charity… When there’s a good cause, many watch brands don’t hesitate long and donate one of their, often unique, creations. Earlier this year, Wei Koh, founder of Revolution magazine and The Rake, reached out to join forces in order to raise money for breast cancer. He baptized this the Pink Dial Project. Nineteen brands have donated watches and the auction started a few days ago, on October 25th. October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and the auction to raise funds for Breast Cancer treatment, research and awareness is ending this weekend, on Sunday the 31st of October.?Every two years, we see how watch brands participate and donate for a good cause, with the Only Watch auction. This year, again, the line-up of remarkable, impressive and uber-impressive watches is just mind-boggling. Every two years the Only Watch auction raises millions! In early 2020, Andrew from Time + Tide Watches quickly organized the Watch & Act! auctio
The Breitling AVI 765 Co-Pilot Series of Watches - Part I - Monochrome Watches
There are few companies in the watch industry that have the impact that Breitling has. It is a known fact among watch collectors, and especially chronograph?aficionados, that the company might be solely responsible for creating the shape and form of the chronograph wristwatch as we know it today. Although the Navitimer is the quintessential Breitling, we will try to shed a light to a rather obscure but nevertheless exceptional chronograph. In a series of three articles we will uncover the story and the timeline of the Breitling Avi 765 Co-Pilot watches.Breitling ref.765 Avi/Co-PilotBreitling was founded in 1884 in Saint-Imier, in the Bernese Jura, by Leon Breitling; and right from the start, they specialised in chronographs. After a few years, in 1915, the company introduced the first wrist-chronograph watch (all functions controlled by the crown), while in 1923 they perfected its design by separating the stop/start function from that of the resetting (combination of crown and a single
Bvlgari Octo Roma Carillon Tourbillon - Introducing, Specs & Price
The Octo Roma Carillon Tourbillon marries two traditional complications in a radically contemporary setting. The impressive acoustic and visual show, with a three-hammer chime and tourbillon, takes place on the dial of a very noir' Octo Roma case. The hammers, gongs and tourbillon are exposed on the dial while the mechanics of the impressive new BVL428 manual-winding calibre can be glimpsed at through an openworked metallic grille bolted to the dial and more clearly on the reverse side of the case. Assertive and commanding with its black DLC titanium case, two traditional complications are cast in an entirely new - but very dark – light.solid chiming credentialsChiming complications, in all their modalities, are not new to Bvlgari. Well represented in the past by the Daniel Roth Grande Sonnerie QP and the Gerald Genta Grande Sonnerie Magsonic with Westminster chimes and tourbillon, Bvlgari masters chiming timepieces with two, three and even four hammers. More recently, we’v
Rumour - Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711 to be Discontinued and Replaced
Wait… Are we seriously saying that? Well, first of all, let’s make things clear. Nothing is official, nothing is confirmed, nothing is even remotely close to indicate that Patek Philippe’s most coveted model, the classic time-and-date blue dial Nautilus reference 5711/1A, is about to be discontinued and replaced. At least officially. Indeed, a closer look at Instagram, specifically Jasem Al Zeraei’s account, a Patek collector and specialist also known as @patekaholic, has been creating some buzz and the rumour machine that is this social network is now working. So, are we about to see an updated Nautilus soon…? If nothing is certain, the question is opened.Voir cette publication sur Instagram Ad - Scroll to continue with article Une publication partagee par Jasem Al Zeraei (@patekaholic)The Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711, the brand
Weekly Watch Photo - IWC Pilot's Watch Chronograph Top Gun Miramar - Monochrome Watches
The subject of this week’s Weekly Watch Photo has a very long name, IWC Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Top Gun Miramar. The review will be online in the following weeks, however I’d love to share some photos of this stunning watch and let’s start with the engraved case back.
