Hands-On Audemars Royal Oak Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon 26530PT
The Royal Oak is, without a doubt, one of the most emblematic watches of the industry and the most iconic watch of its manufacturer, Audemars Piguet. And rightfully so, as when it launched in 1972, it defined a new genre known as the luxury sports watch. Since then, for almost 50 years, the brand has derived the concept in multiple forms, and with almost all complications available, including tourbillon regulators. Last year, Audemars Piguet presented an update of its Tourbillon RO, with the new?Royal Oak Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon 41mm collection here. Recently, and discreetly, the brand launched a new take on this watch, with a platinum case and a dial in what’s possibly the hottest colour currently, in a superb light blue. Audemars Piguet To Exceed CHF 1 Billion Revenue in 2018 and to Fully Integrate its Retail Network - Monochrome Watches
In an interview to Reuters, CEO Francois-Henry Bennahmias declared that Audemars Piguet will deliver double-digit growth in 2018 and that the brand's turnover will exceed one billion Swiss francs this year. To further boost sales, Audemars Piguet plans to cut-out third-party multi-brand retailers to arrive at a totally integrated retail network within three to five years. The integration of distribution in the watch industry started years ago with the creations of subsidiaries and with the wish to sell more and more in own-name stores. Audemars Piguet aims at pushing this strategy one step further, with a fully integrated network (directly operated or with local partners). Bennhamias added that Audemars Piguet could consider acquiring retailers too. Bringing distribution in-house allows increasing sales and consolidating margins with directly operated stores. It is also the opportunity to get full control of operations at a retail level and to leverage the complementarity of the differe

Everything that can be said has been said about the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak – its introduction in 1972, as a watch more expensive than any gold dress watches from the same era, an exquisite mix of luxury and sportiness, elegantly designed by Gerald Genta and a product that is now an icon. However, the story still goes on and Audemars Piguet keeps impressing us with some editions like the?Royal Oak Concept Laptimer Michael Schumacher – or with the?Royal Oak Offshore Selfwinding Tourbillon Chronograph, a mix between two different faces of?the brand: the robust sports watches and the Haute Horlogerie movements. What is the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Selfwinding Tourbillon Chronograph about? Spotted - David Beckham and His Unique Tudor Pelagos "Inter Miami"
There’s nothing unusual in seeing a brand ambassador wearing one of his sponsor’s timepieces. Pretty normal. Seeing them posting a close-up photo of a watch on Instagram is already something less common. But what we’ve spotted yesterday is even less “classic style”.
