Introducing the Audemars Royal Oak QP Ultra-Thin Smoky-Blue
In 2019, Audemars Piguet introduced the world’s thinnest perpetual calendar, with a 2.89mm movement and a 6.30mm case. The watch, the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Selfwinding Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin (or Royal Oak QP Ultra-Thin to make it simple) in a titanium case with platinum alloy parts, was based on the RD#2 concept revealed a year earlier. That year it received the Aiguille d’Or, the top prize at the GPHG, in recognition of its creativity and innovation. Today the brand unveils a new limited edition of the Royal Oak QP Ultra-Thin, in full titanium (no more platinum parts), and with a cool gradient blue dial.?The 2019 Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin with blue dial and case mixing brushed titanium and polished platinumAudemars Piguet has been at the forefront of the successful development of ultra-thin mechanics as early as the 1920s, with a record-thin 1.32mm pocket watch movement presented in 1921, followed by a hand-wound 1.64mm wristwatch movement in 1938.
2020 Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore "Bucherer BLUE"
When talking about the Royal Oak, blue dials are a natural fit. After all, the first Royal Oak featured a blue Tapisserie dial in 1972 and the colour has become somewhat of an Audemars Piguet trademark. The Royal Oak Offshore debuted in 1993 and has been a successful, highly masculine sequel to the original series. Although many sported blue dials in the past, the Bucherer BLUE Royal Oak Offshore models have features unique to the collaboration. They're also the first special editions of the 42mm variant since its 2014 launch. Both Audemars Piguet and Bucherer have rich histories going back over a century and these latest models continue a successful partnership since 2016.?Founded in 1888 by entrepreneur Carl-Friedrich Bucherer in Lucerne, Switzerland, Bucherer went from a single watch and jewellery store to the largest retailer of its kind in Europe with 36 locations. A wide selection of the most prestigious watch brands is offered, including one of the most extensive ranges of mod

Prior to the SIHH 2018, back in December, IWC introduced a series of 4 watches, including one very surprising watch. A stand-alone piece, not included in any of the existing collections, the IWC Tribute to Pallweber is a watch specifically created for the 150th Anniversary of the Schaffhausen-based brand. This re-edition of one of the greatest pocket-watches IWC ever made is now available in steel, still with the same?digital hours and minute display. The Tribute to Pallweber is a completely original watch, a vintage reedition, not of a famed 1960s piece but based on one of the most iconic pocket-watches ever manufactured by IWC, the?Pallweber. IWC Portofino Chronograph 39 with manufacture movement
The Portofino has been IWC's elegant round watch proponent since 1984. Clean, sober dials and a range of case sizes have made the Portofino an attractive unisex option, while its classical 1950s looks have earned the collection the much sought-after distinction of being timeless. Since its introduction, the Portofino Chronograph brings a dash of vintage sportiness to the collection with its pronounced piston-style pushers and balanced, uncluttered dial. The latest IWC Portofino Chronograph 39, which could easily be confused with the models we covered last year, has been treated to an upgrade and now comes with a manufacture movement, a sapphire caseback and a quick-change strap system for additional versatility, all without this reference?IW391502?losing an iota of its elegant, sporty personality.ModificationsRevisited over the years, recent manifestations of the Portofino Chronograph include the downsized, more compact 39mm (from 42mm) version of the two-register chronograph in 2021 w
Patek Philippe Annual Calendar Travel Time 5326G (Price)
Although many were hoping that the demise of the Nautilus 5711 was just a marketing ploy – which it wasn’t – Patek Philippe had a couple of surprises up its sleeve, including the new Annual Calendar Travel Time 5326G. And new in this context means brand new, not just a new dial colour/finishing as in the case of the Chronograph 5172G or the Worldtimers. This highly practical combination of an annual calendar with a GMT function marks the first time these two complications appear in one watch at Patek Philippe. Powered by a movement protected by eight patents, the Annual Calendar Travel Time 5326G synchronises the date with the time zone selected. Although long-time collectors of Patek watches might have been floored by its overtly vintage vibe, unusual granular dial, modular case construction and more casual presence, we fell in love with the watch. Firstly, for its impressive level of practicality and secondly, for its refreshing design, a clear signal of the new dir
