Bulgari Octo Finissimo Automatic Satin-Polished // Introducing
No watch enthusiast can overlook Bvlgari’s hegemony of the ultra-thin category. The formula is simple: 5 stunning watches, 5 world records, 1 great design. Not only is the Octo Finissimo a demonstration of mechanical savoir-faire but it is also a treaty of modern design. Until now, the “simplest” of the watches in this collection, the Automatic model, has been available in titanium, stainless steel and rose gold, all with a sandblasted finish. Now, the brand adds a luxurious touch with the new Bvlgari Octo Finissimo Automatic Satin-Polished Collection. With these new models in the ever-growing (and always surprising) Octo Finissimo collection, don’t expect multiple design or mechanical changes. The ingredients are still the same: the same angular case; the same ultra-flat luxury sports watch concept; the same paper-thin automatic movement; and the same bracelet/strap. Whereas most brands introduce new dial colours to spruce up an existing? model, Bvlgari refreshe
Hands-On: The All-New Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Worldtimer
Slightly overlooked and possibly in the shadows of the classic Seamaster Diver 300M, the Planet Ocean is the most capable collection of dive watches in Omega’s range, comprising models from 600m up to 6000m water-resistance (without counting the all-mighty Ultra-Deep that survived the Mariana Trench). Born in 2005, it will be celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, and we can possibly expect a few surprises coming from Bienne. And the first one to emerge from the depths is this unprecedented take on the powerful Deep Black collection, the first PO to receive a world time complication. Here’s the brand-new Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Worldtimer.?The worldtimer function isn’t new to Omega, which has been using its in-house Calibre 8938 within the Seamaster Aqua Terra collection since 2017. In the same vein, the Seamaster Planet Ocean, despite being an ultra-focused dive watch capable of withstanding incredible depths, also had its fair share of complications, rangi
Watches and Espresso - Monochrome Watches
Last year Robert-Jan from Fratellowatches and Gerard from Horlogeplatform Nederland initiated an informal meeting of local watch enthousiasts. The idea was to make the Watches and Espresso meeting into a returning event in different locations in the neighborhood. Recently we met at a place near the sea, where it was very quiet due to the lousy weather. 8 Fellow watch enthousiasts joined to talk about watches, admire newly aquired watches and discuss the watch industry.TableshotOne of the things has become a returning topic is the size of watches and specifically the very large sized watches. I think most of us think that the BIG hype has gone far enough and it’s time to return to smaller sized watches.Personally i think large watch can be nice, but only for watches with a history of being big. Like the Panerai Luminor Marina and Radiomir models which have always been 45mm or 47mm large, which made sense for the purpuse they where designed for. Also the IWC Big Pilot has large anc
Longines Spirit Titanium Collection 2021 - Hands-on, Price
Longines is a brand with a rich history, and in many fields. One that stands out above the others is the field of aviation watches, a type of watch that has long been dear to the brand and where the winged hourglass?has excelled, putting its instruments on the wrist of many?pioneers. A?classic pilot's watch that combines old-school design cues with a contemporary execution,?available in multiple editions, with several colours, sizes and movements, the Longines Spirit collection is once more expanding this year, with a cool edition combining vintage elements with technical?conception. Meet the new Longines Spirit Titanium Collection.Founded in 1832 in Saint-Imier in the Swiss Jura, Longines became renowned for its reliable and precise timing instruments, which would become the brand's hallmark. With the advent of military and civilian aviation and thus the need for pilots to rely on precise timekeeping instruments, the brand would become one of the most coveted manufacturers for pioneer
Introducing The Vacheron Constantin Overseas Chronograph Panda Dial
Launched as part of the renewal of the entire collection in 2016, the?Overseas Chronograph has long been seen as the sportiest and boldest watch of?Vacheron Constantin‘s luxury sports watch range. Initially available with a full-silver or blue dial in steel or with a silver dial in an 18k pink gold case, the collection has been expanded with a brown dial, a reverse panda dial and a blue-and-gold model. And now, in 2023, seven years after the release of this reference 5500V, the edition many were waiting for is finally here… Meet the highly anticipated Panda Dial Vacheron Constantin Overseas Chronograph.?The launch of this new, long-awaited panda version of the Overseas Chronograph coincides with the discontinuation of several previous versions.
