As the world of watches is now fairly driven by the internet, you certainly didn’t miss the novelties that?Tudor Watches had for this year 2016. The star of the show was definitely the bronze edition of the Black Bay, followed by a second edition, this time coated with a black PVD treatment, the Black Bay Dark. Both of them are equipped with something Tudor was proud to introduce to the world last year, their first in-house movement – and that’s not a detail, knowing the history of the brand. Alongside these two proper novelties, Tudor Watches also used Baselworld to introduce?an evolution of its?its best-seller, the?normal Heritage Black Bay.?What’s new in the 2016 Tudor Heritage Black Bay 79230 and what are the benefits for you, end customers? The old?Tudor Heritage Black Bay 79220, pre-Baselworld 2016 – now discontinued Ad - Scroll to continue with article
Announcing - Roberta Naas joins Monochrome and we're starting to cover Ladies' Watches
Well, this is a big one, and I feel humbled to announce that non-other than esteemed watch journalist Roberta Naas is joining Monochrome-Watches. Having such an experienced journalist, who has been covering the world of watches since the early 1980s, is a real coup. She's got more than thirty years in the industry and has written a half a dozen books on the subject. With that comes an incredible amount of knowledge about the industry, about watch models, styles and, of course, about those lovely mechanisms with a beating heart. She joins us to cover the topic many of you told us that you would like to read more about: women's watches. As you might remember, Monochrome celebrated its 10th anniversary last year. We asked our friends at watch brands if they would like to make some presents available for you to win in our monthly give-aways, and all you had to do was answer some questions. One of these questions asked what you would love to see more on Monochrome, and to my big surprise, yo

Hands-On URWERK UR-210 CP with Clou de Paris engraved case (live pics, specs & price) - Monochrome Watches
For those who vist Monochrome-Watches regularly, you probably know that we have soft spot for independent watchmakers and timepieces?that display the time in a different way, meaning without traditional hands and dials. One of our top favorite watches?is, without any possible discussion, the URWERK UR-210, a piece?that we extensively reviewed and filmed in a rather personal column, written by our editor in chief – for the full steel edition. It was certainly enthusiastic – and for very good reasons. This year, at Baselworld, the brand comes back with a new iteration, with a pattern that is usually reserved to highly classical watchmaking, the “Clou de Paris”… And believe or not, in the context of the?URWERK UR-210 CP, it becomes very unusual and highly modern. That’s the kind of watchmaker’s bench you’d like to see more often… Ad - Scroll to continue with article

TAG Heuer celebrates the 30th anniversary of Ayrton Senna’s first victory?at the Monaco Grand Prix, releasing three special edition watches in tribute to the legendary Brazilian driver. In his brilliant, way-too-short career, Ayrton Senna roared to three world championships, 41 victories and 65 pole positions and is still regarded as one of, if not the, best ever drivers in F1! The watches were unveiled this week-end in Monaco and we have live photos. The first, and for us at Monochrome, most interesting of these watches is a sporty, racing-inspired Heuer01 chronograph. It is clad in PVD steel paired with red accents and the Senna design elements, including the S logo which is reminiscent?of a S-chicane on a race track.
