Hands-On - Bvlgari Octo Finissimo Skeleton Sandblasted Rose Gold (Specs & Price)
At Baselworld 2018, Bvlgari continued the expansion of its award-winning Octo Finissimo collection – and in the nicest possible way, with the world’s thinnest automatic and tourbillon watch, as well as a trilogy of automatic watches in sandblasted titanium, steel or gold. The latter – which we described in details here – clearly gave the collection its own personality. This is why the?Octo Finissimo Skeleton, previously available in titanium, full black and two-tone, is now changing style with a?Sandblasted Rose Gold case, in order to be coherent with the latest introductions. What you see here won’t be Bvlgari’s talking piece of the year. It is basically a change of material and finishing on an existing watch. Nothing more… However, this isn’t a reason not to have a second look at the?Bvlgari Octo Finissimo Skeleton, especially in this new?Sandblasted Rose Gold version – which is, admittedly, perfectly in line with the overall Octo
Six Of The Very Best New Watches That Pair Titanium With High-End Mechanics
With the new year well on its way, there have already been a ton of immensely cool watches being presented. Whether it’s new materials and colours in existing collections, completely new models or even entirely new brands, there’s no shortage of news in 2024. News from mainstream brands, but also from indie watchmakers and everything in between. As we do every week, we take a look at what’s what and group together a series of high-end watches all relying on the lightweight properties of titanium. Although we’ve touched upon this topic in the past, the six watches we’re featuring today all came by in the past couple of months. So with that in mind, here are six more high-end titanium watches for you to consider!Zenith Chronomaster Sport TitaniumThe Zenith Chronomaster Sport already quite lived up to its name, but the Titanium edition takes it up a few more notches. The lightweight chronograph watch still looks amazing but has an almost tone-on-tone light gr
Buying Guide: Car and Motorbike Inspired Watches
“Racing is life; anything that happens before or after is just waiting.” Famous words by Michael Delaney, Steve McQueen’s character in the legendary 1971 movie Le Mans. And while there’s far more to life than racing, to a Petrolhead, it does make absolute sense. It’s the thrill of fast-paced cars being pushed on winding roads or, better yet, on a racetrack. The adrenaline of accelerating hard out of a corner, shifting through the gears to hit top speed before inevitably needing to slow down for the next corner. Everything else disappears into the background, and for that single moment in time, all that matters is you, your machine and the asphalt ahead of you. Plus a watch, of course, let’s not forget about watches! With that image now firmly planted in your mind, here are five of the coolest fuel-injected watches that find more than just a little inspiration from two or four wheels, ranging from relatively simple to over-the-top complex.Jacob &
Hublot Big Bang Integral 42mm Integrated Bracelet // Introducing, Price
It is hard to overlook the current trend for sports watches with integrated bracelets… They are simply all over the place and in all price segments. Hublot, one of the main participants in the robust luxury sports watch, has been aware of this and already had such an option in its Classic Fusion watch. But, surprisingly, the Big Bang, the sportier, bolder version (a competitor to the RO Offshore) has never been offered on a bracelet… until now. Meet the new Hublot Big Bang Integral collection. While the Classic Fusion could be seen as an alternative to the thin and relatively restrained watches in the luxury sports watch category, the other main collection of Hublot, the Big Bang, is a more robust, even more contrasted version with a larger case, more combinations of materials, more angles, more skeletonization… More of everything, if you like. And while integrated metallic bracelets are everywhere these days, Hublot has been surprisingly quiet in this field. At least
Tribute To 1969 - 5 Great Watches That Celebrate 50th Anniversaries / Buying Guide
1969 certainly was an eventful year. It is a year I would have loved to live: this was the year of the legendary music festival Woodstock; 1969 witnessed the first flight of the supersonic plane Concorde; the Rolling Stones recorded Let It Bleed; the Beatles gave the world Abbey Road; and Easy Rider and Once Upon a Time in the West were the cult films of the day. And, of course, man took his first steps on the Moon. 1969 was also a great year for the watchmaking industry with the advent of the automatic chronograph and a well-known chronograph enjoying a view of the Earth from an unprecedented perspective… Fifty years down the line, watch brands have been busy celebrating these 50th anniversaries with commemorative watches.? Here are the best of the lot.Glashutte Original SeaQ 1969 LimitedLet’s start with the least expected model (obviously, you have an idea of what the other watches will be…) This year, Glashutte Original introduces a brand new line of watches, named
