Introducing Bulgari Octo Finissimo Special Edition Phillips Watches
Bulgari seems intent on marking the 10th anniversary of the Octo Finissimo with limited editions and collaborations. After all, what are friends for if not to share the festive mood? A couple of weeks ago, we talked about an Octo Finissimo Tattoo Acqua, the second edition in limited series created with tattoo artist Mo Copoletta. Now comes an even more unusual release. The fact that it is an auction house that took pride in co-creating this special edition is remarkable, yes, but what is amazing and previously not present in the Octo Finissimo Automatic series is a dial without the small seconds counter at 7 o’clock. Let’s have a look at the new Octo Finissimo Special Edition Phillips In Association With Bacs & Russo.Bulgari reports that a few ideas were exchanged between Aurel Bacs, Senior Consultant, Bacs & Russo and Alexandre Ghotbi, Head of Watches, Continental Europe & Middle East and Fabrizio Buonamassa Stigliani, Product Creation Executive Director, Bulga
Longines Heritage Classic Sector Dial L2.828.4.73.2 - Introducing, Specs & Price
There is no doubt that Longines knows its business when it comes to re-editing past models. This was true with the Avigation BigEye, the Type A-7 or the Heritage Military. Despite how good these watches were, there was always a small ‘but’ (a date, a large case…) but what you’re about to see is a very, very attractive. Cool design, great proportions, historical relevance and a powerful movement. Meet the new Longines Heritage Classic “Sector Dial”.I have a particular soft spot for the so-called “Calatrava” steel watches of the 1930s and 1940s, watches often found in oversized (back then) cases with a simple but well-designed dial, relying on Art Deco themes. This often gave life to the so-called sector dials. This is exactly what Longines has in its museum, a 1934 piece with a flat coin-shaped bezel, straight lugs and a sector dial. The 1934 Longines watch from the Museum that served as an inspiration. This is the exact theme and design tha
The Collector's Series - Gavin Foo and his more-than-special Cabestan Luna Nera - Monochrome-Watches
He's a father, part of the Deployant.com team and collector. An interesting fact about Gavin Foo (that he happened to mention before our interview), is that despite his best efforts, he still can't seem to complete level 53 of Metal Gear Solid V Good to know Oh, and in his collection, he happens to own the mind-blowingly cool Cabestan Luna Nera.So for those of you new to Cabestan let's start from the beginning. It is an independent Swiss watch manufacture nestled in the heart of the Jura Mountains, in the cradle of watchmaking, the Vallee de Joux. Since 2003, Cabestan have been developing stunning timepieces with a focus on their vertical oriented movement. The Luna Nera was created in 2013 and is limited to a series of 135 timepieces. It is the result of Eric Coudray's (master-watchmaker) imagination. He has managed to achieve what very few watchmakers have ever been able to achieve. He has combined by the vertical capstan wheels, chain and fuse, with a glorious moon phase in 3-dimensi
Patek Philippe Ref. 5235 Annual Calendar Regulator - Monochrome Watches
Patek Philippe’s new Ref. 5235 Annual Calendar Regulator embodies a number of novel facets never before featured in the manufacture’s collection. It is the first Patek Philippe wristwatch with a regulator dial! The Patek Philippe Ref. 5235 Annual Calendar Regulator features a dial with an unusual arrangement - large sweep minute hand combined with subsidiary hours at 12 o’clock and subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock.?Free-standing precision pendulum clocks with regulator arrangement kept the precise time in watchmaking workshops and observatories, for more than 200 years,?until they were finally superseded by quartz- and radio-controlled reference instruments. When adjusting their timepieces, watchmakers needed an unobstructed view of the seconds hand, which is why the hour display was moved to an off-center location where it would not sweep over and thus partially cover the seconds dial for several hours in the course of a day. Hands-On - Oris x Momotaro Jeans Divers Sixty-Five (Specs & Price)
Introduced already five years ago just ahead of Baselworld, the Divers Sixty-Five has quickly become one of the most emblematic watches of Oris, existing in countless permanent, special or limited editions, in multiple materials and in several sizes. Surprisingly, Oris managed to make it consistent and most of the editions proved successful – remember the Bi-Co or the silver dial? The latest in the series is also one of the boldest and most fashion-oriented… Something that could have sounded scary but the result of this collaboration with cult Japanese jean maker, named the Oris x Momotaro Jeans Divers Sixty-Five, was quite cool indeed. And we have it live with us today.Based on the acclaimed ’65The story behind the Divers Sixty-Five is quite interesting. One of the members of the Oris team – a Dutch fellow who’s also a true watch enthusiast – was the owner of a small, quite unknown dive watch from the mid-1960s, a watch with a glossy black domed dia
