Why the Patek Philippe 5170G Chronograph is such a cool watch - Review with live photos & price - Monochrome Watches
When you think Chronograph (voluntarily with a capital?C), you probably?have in?mind a Daytona, a Speedmaster, racing cars, space exploration, timing sports competitions… In other words, you think sports watches. However, chronograph watches can be elegant, small, restrained and wearable with a suit – and here I mean that there are chronographs?intended to be worn like that, not sporty chronographs that you decide to wear with a suit (and there’s nothing wrong in wearing a Speedy with a suit). In the category of dress chronographs, you might think of the Datograph and another one… that surprisingly (or not…) comes from Patek Philippe: the 5170G. Here is our take on the?Patek Philippe 5170G.It’s a “back to basics” watchThe?Patek Philippe 5170G Chronograph is the purest definition of a Patek Philippe, a watch that represents the greatness of Patek Philippe. It is also a watch that looks like those superb 1940s chronographs that Patek made.
Hands-on: The Genus GNS2 - Sleeker, Still Fascinating
A masterpiece of ingenuity and complexity, the GNS1 dazzled the watchmaking scene with its incredible free-moving train travelling around the two central counters on the dial like a mechanical caterpillar. Marking the indie brand's debut in 2019, the GNS1 was ten years in the making and protected by two patents. Earlier this year, Genus introduced the GNS2, a follow-up model designed to simplify the display and lighten the case. Now fitted with a closed dial and two separate and shorter trains, the question is whether this exercise in style results in a more legible, streamlined and ultimately more wearable watch. The First GNS1Genus Watches is a collaborative venture between entrepreneur Catherine Heny and watchmaker Sebastian Billieres and was founded in 2019. The first opus to emerge from Genus, the GNS1,?is a veritable mechanical extravaganza, relying on an ingenious mechanical train/free-moving element circling the two tens-of-minute counters in the centre of the dial to form a fig
Dumoreau DM01 Automatic Integrated Bracelet - Value Proposition Review
Microbrands have really matured in the last few years, producing watches that can legitimately go toe-to-toe with established brands from the accessible range like Hamilton, Tissot and more. Dumoreau is a new brand based in Southern California and recently release its inaugural piece, the DM01 sports watch. We've seen a few affordable watches with integrated bracelets lately like the Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 and Batavi Architect, and this Dumoreau DM01 Automatic doesn't disappoint. It's a well proportioned, sophisticated package that many sports watch enthusiasts can afford. And its design truly belies the accessible price.?BackgroundWhen I say Dumoreau is a new brand, I mean founded in 2021 new. Founder Carlo Aiello is an award-winning architect and product designer with the Red Dot Award, Good Design Award and ICFF Award under his belt. As an avid watch collector, he followed his passion to create a watch brand. The brand's name comes from the French surname Moreau, which is part of

Tudor Glamour Double Date 42mm Manufacture Movement 57100/57103 (Specs & Price)
When the name Tudor is mentioned, models such as “Black Bay” or “Pelagos” spring to mind. For sure, the brand communicated (and created) a lot on these products – which are admittedly?great watches. However, there are more watches in the collection than these sporty, vintage-inspired pieces – and that includes, for instance, the “Style“, the recently introduced “1926” or the Glamour – a watch that remained under the radar for us… Until now. Today, the brand unveils a redesigned and slightly more masculine version of this watch, now equipped with a brand new version of the manufacture movement. Meet the?Tudor Glamour Double Date ref. 57100/57103.?Up until now, the Tudor?Glamour had been entirely in the shadows of the BB, Pelagos and other sports models of Tudor. It was one of those watches that didn’t really capture our attention, mainly because the brand didn’t communicate about it. However, Tudor today
