A truly sensational gentlemen's watch, the Tissot T-Classic Everytime Large is one gem of a watch. With a rose gold PVD stainless steel case and brown leather strap, it appeals to all men. Recap: A Retrospective of 2023 with our Favourite Videos
Let me start by saying that, on this first day of 2024 and on behalf of the entire MONOCHROME team, I’d like to wish you all a Happy and Prosperous New Year. May it be filled with passion for watches and remarkable new models. 2023 has been one of the most prolific years for the watch industry – yet with a slightly degraded context – and for our magazine, too. New team members joined us, hundreds of articles were published and because MONO’ is a multi-platform medium, over 60 videos were produced. Here are some of our favourite in-depth movies and video reviews, a laid-back way to refresh your mind on this first day of the year.?Why The Omega Speedmaster 57 is a Great Alternative to the MoonwatchIn this video, we’re trying to answer a difficult question. Is there an alternative to the all-time classic Moonwatch? And we’re doing so by having a closer look at the Speedmaster 57. Smaller, a bit less bulky, more refined, hand-wound Could this Speedmaster
Review 2021 Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional Master Chronometer
This probably won’t come as a surprise to you but… there’s a new regular production?Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional! As far as I can say, this is big news, simply because we’re talking about one of the most iconic and most respected watches ever produced, and a watch that has been in continuous production since 1957. Clearly, Omega wasn’t allowed to mess with this watch and everything that had to be changed, removed, redesigned or updated had to be carefully weighed. We covered the launch of the watch a couple of days ago; however, such an update needed to be explained once we had the opportunity to see the watch. Why? Because actually, almost every single element of this Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional Master Chronometer is new… But (thankfully) it still very much looks like a Moonwatch.?The Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional… until nowBefore we look at the new Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional Master Chronometer, it is important
In Conversation With Nick Harris, Founder of Orion and Watches By Nick - Monochrome Watches
A somewhat surprising, yet very encouraging trend seems to be emerging in our tiny watch ecosystem. Young people from around the world, millennials who aren't supposed to even care about traditional (outdated') technology, are discovering a passion for mechanical wristwatches. And what's more, they are finding interesting ways to explore and develop their own ideas, leveraging the boom in crowdfunding to help them create their own products and brands, many of which offer genuinely interesting additions to an already crowded market. This seems all the more remarkable when you consider that none of these young creators has ever even had the need to wear a wristwatch, thanks largely to the advent of things like smartphones. Still, they are making the active choice to be a part of this world and to try and make a living from mechanical wristwatches. Today, we're speaking to one such individual, a young man from the USA by the name of Nick Harris. The Seiko fans among you might recognise Nic
Stoic World Sports Watch by Peter Speake-Marin (Specs & Price)
Imagine Enzo Ferrari leaving his company after its reputation was well established, only to reemerge a year later with a new car brand offering affordable, compact sedans. As crazy as that scenario sounds, it's kind of analogous to the current situation we have with Peter Speake-Marin. It wasn't long ago that his name was associated with expensive, exclusive and complicated timepieces, featuring in-house movements, tourbillons, minute repeaters and more. Those days are behind Peter, who left the company last year to pursue other interests (inc. The Naked Watchmaker), but he's suddenly back with a new watch brand, Stoic World. The Sports Watch is one of three in Stoic World's portfolio of affordable, mainstream watches, having virtually no resemblance to his former collections. Let's take a closer look at the Sports Watch (and touch on the other two) and see if this new direction is worthy of the Peter Speake-Marin name.BACKGROUNDPeter Speake-Marin, an?English watchmaker, started his ca
