LVMH's first round of 2020 watchmaking novelties is being unveiled in the luxurious Dubai Bvlgari Hotel today. So what could be more fitting that a quick peek at the highlight of Bvlgari's watchmaking releases: the Serpenti Seduttori Tourbillon. In keeping with Bvlgari's recent tradition of setting world records in the watchmaking arena, this new Serpenti Seduttori collection features the smallest tourbillon on the market today.GENESIS OF THE SERPENTIIt's worthwhile remembering that Bvlgari's watchmaking adventure began in the late 1940s when designers had the idea of transforming an existing - and very popular – high jewellery snake bracelet into a secret watch. IWC Ingenieur Chronograph Tribute to Nico Rosberg to honour the 2016 F1 World Champion - Monochrome Watches
Last weekend, just before the start of the final race of this year’s F1 season, IWC introduced a special edition Ingenieur Chronograph, to honour last year’s World Champion Nico Rosberg. While the available 23 pieces were probably sold out instantly, we love to share this with you for two reasons. First, this is the best looking new Ingenieur Chronograph version, and secondly, we included the video of Nico Rosberg picking up his own watch and answering questions about this limited edition. This is not the first IWC limited edition for Nico Rosberg, as the Schaffhausen-based brand launched two limited edition for the drivers of the Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 team of which they are one of the main sponsors. That was back in 2014, and there were two limited edition of 250 pieces each for both Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton. It was the older Ingenieur Chronograph version which was discontinued when the current version was introduced early 2016. The new limited edition to honour N
Pre-Introducing the Richard Mille RM 67-01 Automatic Extra Flat - Monochrome-Watches
Recently, we had a close look at a special watch from Richard Mille, the RM 033 Extra Flat, a watch that, even though it was?more refined, more elegant, slimmer and featured a round case, was?certainly recognizable as a watch from Richard Mille?–?mainly because of the skeletonized movement, the design clues and the execution, all respectful of the brand’s DNA. This same recipe is now applied to another watch, also a slim, more elegant, skeletonized piece but this time there’s no doubt to have when considering the manufacture that created it, as the new?Richard Mille RM 67-01 Automatic Extra Flat has the distinctive tonneau case. Preview of one of the watches that RM will show during?the SIHH 2016.Most of the watches created by Richard Mille share three?main characteristics: a tonneau shaped-case that became the hallmark of the brand (see this watch or this watch), hyper-complicated movements with unique features (like the G-sensor of the?RM 36-01 Sebastian Loeb, the a
Tudor Heritage Black Bay Bronze Blue Bucherer Edition (Specs & Price)
Please welcome the BBBBB… Yes, 5 B’s for a new model that will definitely create some buzz (again). Three of these B’s are already known, they refer to the Black Bay Bronze. Add to that a fourth B, for Blue, the color used by a certain Maison for its special editions, plus a fifth a final B for another Maison,?Bucherer. Panerai Luminor Due 3 Days Automatic Acciaio 38mm PAM00755 - PAM00903 - hands-on (Specs & Price)
In the collective psyche of watch enthusiasts, Panerai is synonymous with large, robust, instrument dive watches. After all, that’s how the brand was conceived back in the 1930s. The brand wasn’t shy about making a 45mm watch its standard offer, and even to introduce 50mm pieces (or more). However, that was the 2000s and demand has changed. In 2016, Panerai introduced the Luminor Due, a range of?smaller and thinner watches, with a hint of elegance. Today, downsizing goes a few steps further, with the introduction of the?Panerai Luminor Due 38mm (and no, it isn’t advertised as a ladies’ watch). The SIHH 2018 collection brought several new watches in the Luminor Due collection. However, the main novelty concerns the?introduction of a smaller diameter: 38mm. Yes, there are no typos, Panerai now offers watches under 40mm! And no, they aren’t, as such, made for ladies – even if, of course, some of our female readers will spot an opportunity to finally wear
