Bvlgari Octo Finissimo Minute Repeater Carbon (Specs & Price)
The world's thinnest minute repeater is revisited in 2018 in a high-tech carbon case and bracelet. Upholding the record-breaking title of its 2016 titanium predecessor, this carbon model goes one step further in breaking with the aesthetics of traditional luxury minute repeaters proposing an edgy industrial look. Chosen as much for its stealth aesthetics as for its physical properties, the Carbon Thin Ply case offers surprising acoustic properties and weighs even less than the original. Lean as a coin but capable of producing such a rich, warm sound, minimalist styling but bristling with technology, rough on the surface but smooth to the touch, imposing and sculptural but feather-light… this watch challenges just about every expectation of a classic minute repeater with Bvlgari's hallmark Italian flair. The genesis of the Octo and Octo Finissimo legionsWhen Bulgari's Octo legion first marched on the watchmaking arena in 2012 it conquered the world with its virile octagonal aesthet
LVMH 2019 First-Half Results, Growth in All Divisions, including Watches and Jewelry - Industry News
After the announcement by Swatch Group of declining sales for the first half of 2019, followed by Richemont Group showing solid double-digit growth over the first quarter, and mild results for Swiss watch exports (with a bad month of June 2019), it is now time for the world's leading luxury products group, LVMH, to put its cards on the table. The French group recorded revenue up 15% over the period with solid growth in all divisions, although with slower figures for the Watches & Jewelry division. Not only is LVMH Louis Vuitton Mo?t Hennessy the largest luxury group in the world, but it also is getting bigger and bigger – including the recent agreement to support Stella McCartney, previously under the Kering umbrella. As for sales and revenues, the Group records an excellent first half of 2019, with sales of EUR 25.1 billion, up 15% over the previous period (+12% organic). The Group explains that the United States, Asia and Europe saw good growth with a rebound in France in th
Vacheron Constantin Les Cabinotiers Grand Complication Split-Seconds Chrono
In 2015, with the presentation of the reference 57260, Vacheron Constantin sent a message to the watchmaking industry by stealing the title of the ‘most complicated watch’ from Patek Philippe. Today, Vacheron Constantin introduces its most complicated wristwatch to date, officially fitted with 24 complications – a response to Patek’s GrandMaster Chime with 20 complications? Of course, it would be hard to state that one watch is better or more complex than the other; one complication does not necessarily equal another complication, and to be honest, it does not really matter But still, the introduction of such a complex watch marks an exciting moment in watchmaking.?The creation of such complex timepieces, with multiple functions and displays, is always an event in itself and an authentic challenge that only a very exclusive group of brands is capable of undertaking. The Vacheron Constantin Grand Complication Split-Seconds Chronograph – Tempo is a beast of
Heuer Autavia's 50th birthday - Monochrome Watches
When Evan told me he wanted to write about a collector’s meeting in Manila, dedicated to the 50th birthday of the Heuer Autavia, I just had to say yes. A vintage Heuer Autavia was my first ‘expensive’ watch and I’m still the proud owner of a piece of history. Monochrome is usually dedicated to pure Haute Horlogerie, however I also have a weak spot for certain vintage watches, especially vintage Heuer chronographs!Earlier this month, we celebrated what was known to be the 50th birthday of the very first automatic chronograph ever made, depending on how you want to define “first” in this context. But festivity aside, we are in actuality celebrating the milestone event of a Heuer watch that never was embelished with the “Tag” prefix – the Autavia.Heuer Autavia ref.11630P Decompression bezelThe Autavia, an icon in its own right had become the quintessential Heuer piece to own.
